Nintendo just can't compete at the top any more with consoles.

I think Nintendo's smart to go the way they are. I don't think they have the capability to take large losses on each console sold such as MS and Sony. Also, it's expensive for developers to scale up the games to the full power of the PS4/Xbox One (has there been a game that has maxed either system out?) and we're roughly 3 to 3 and a half years into the current generation.

It's a handheld (console hybrid) that's supposedly at least as powerful as an XB1 (moreso by some speculation, being in-between the XB1 and PS4), can't ask for much more from their design point in terms of power, considering what it's made to do. The first and second party games coming in the first year are huge as well, and they have a lot of Japanese dev/publisher support, as well as indie support. Now they do have screwups (the online is still a huge question and they need to be more aggressive courting big western publishers and devs), but look how terrible Microsoft screwed up with the XB1 when it was introduced at E3, and look at Sony's PS4 Pro screwup. Give the console a year before declaring it doa (especially considering the pre-order sales are through the roof).

More like in between the 360 and the X1. Given the evidence we have, it's not nearly on par with current gen.

And make no mistake, it's a console first, handheld second. Nobody will be confusing this beast with a traditional handheld system.

I don't understand why Nintendo couldn't just made a regular console with a sleek design that is as powerful as a PS4.

That is all I wanted from Nintendo. I don't want to take my console out of my living room. The living room is where I relax.

It has a 720p screen. 720.
It's 2008 tech.

They couldn't even be bothered making it 1080p, you know, like phones have been for the last 4 years.

I will only buy the Switch for the new Mario game. Looks just as ground breaking as the N64 Mario.

?

I thought it looked just the same.

As much as I disagree with the guy, we're single handedly keeping this dead forum alive.
If there are two of you it's not single-handed? And, in that case, doesn't that just mean that the dead forum is not in fact alive, but is instead just being used a medium for you two's personal conversations?

Why are people saying GameCube is underrated? Everyone knows it had some good Nintendo exclusives, but overall got wrecked by ps2 and Xbox with all of the rpg's it didn't get and halo.

I hate halo, btw. I'm just honest about how big of a deal it was.

To be fair talking to him is like talking to a retarded brick wall.

Both GameCube and original Xbox controllers were abominations.
Removable memory card tamagochi thing for DC was a nice idea though
Which original Xbox controller are you referring to?

Resident Evil 4

Re4 was pretty good but got bored of it and quit once I got to the escort mission.

I went back to playing better games on my PS2 like Final Fantasy X, Grand Theft Auto San Andreas and Gran Turismo 3.

Fire Emblem
Shin Megami Tensei
JRPGs like I am Setsunsa
Upcoming No More Heroes
Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Dragonquest

Compared tp PS4's and Xbox 1's

Final Fantasy that plays like a GTA

Metal Gear Solid that plays like a Left 4 Dead games

Lol at trying to spin that the Switch will have more relevant games than xbox or playstation. C'mon now, that hasn't been the case for nearly 15 years now.

Nintendo fans are making a big deal over getting Skyrim ffs. Old ass Skyrim.

It does clearly have the best JRPG lineup announced.
As someone who hates JRPGs I don't care much about that.
But on the other hand the one JRPG franchise I like is SMT, so I'm gonna have to get it.

The Gamecube sucked and so did the N64 at least compared to the competion.

The industry moved forward with disc based games and Nintendo stayed stubborn using outdated cartridges which hurt the storage capacity so no cool FMVs. PlayStation crushed the N64 because of this. Cartridges are notoriously expensive to manufacture and the console was hard to develop games for which is why 3rd party support dried up.

Then they stayed stubborn with the Gamecube using proprietary UMD style disc and the start of inferior hardware compared to PS2 and Xbox.

That was the last Nintendo console I owned. Barely used it. Think I really only played a lot of FZero GX Metroid Prime games and Wave Race Blue Storm.

The N64 had so many good games. t that point, it doesn't really matter who won IMO. Gamers would be happy with any system. A generation like that required you to buy both or you'd miss out on greatness.

The whole Skyrim thing is just embarrassing. Fallout would be interesting. Skyrim? A joke.

I'm gonna guess the ones that were the size of a football.

I actually liked those ones. They were unnecessarily gigantic, but they were comfy.
