Pride 2000 gp is the most stacked tournament there has ever been. It was open weight gp with so many fighter people can argue are mma goats today:

Royce Gracie, goat for UFC/BJJ fanboys.
Nobuhiko Takada, Japanese puroresu goat. Had fought against Rickson and Coleman.
Kazushi Sakuraba, real goat. Explonations no needed.
Guy Mezger, Lion's den representative, trained by Ken Shamrock, american goat.
Igor Vovchanchyn, have had 37 win streak, beat Kerr, pure goat.
Alexander Otsuka, puroresu presentative, victory over Marco Ruas.
Gary Goodridge, Big Daddy, KOed Don Frye.
Osamu Kawahara,
Akira Shoji
Masaaki Satake,
Mark Coleman, introduction coming...
Ebenezer Fontes Braga
Mark Kerr, goat,
Enson Inoue, have victory over Randy Couture, who some consider as goat.
Kazuyoki Fujita, have great victory after this tournament.
Hans Nijman,

Mark Coleman won the most stacked tournament ever held.

With being tournament champion in UFC 10 and UFC 11, first UFC Heavyweight champion and winning Pride 2000 open weight grand prix he is to be considered the goat.

He has losses in his record, but previous accomplishments are so valid and legit.

I'm not going to say I don't like the roster of that 2005 GP too. There absolutely the best goat ever been. But I'm going to adjust the level of competition 2000 gp had.

There is UFC tournament champions:
Royce Gracie, Mark Coleman, Mark Kerr, Guy Mezger, Kazushi Sakuraba,

Igor Vovchanchyn with 9 tournament wins.

Mark Kerr, World Vale Tudo tournament champion, UFC 14 and 15 Champion.

Mark Coleman, UFC 10 and 11 Champion, 1st UFC Heavyweight Champion.

Royce Gracie, UFC 1,2 and 4 champion.

There is just insane amount of old-school NHB tournament champions on this tournament. I just want to point out that this tournament had this many tournament winners attending.

There is also epic fight between Royce and Saku. And the everlasting memory of Gracie Train. Love it or Hate it, but that entrance is epic.

Had to read this about three times just to make sure that you actually left Arona off the list.

Pride's GP were awesome.

Today's tournaments are almost laughable and unneeded.

It'll be fuckin cool is UFC starts doing Grand Prix once in a while.

Damn Farm with all these Goats...

:)

Don't forgot about the 2003 GP and also Bushido lightweight tournament.

Bushido 9:
Gomi
Sakurai
Pulver
Edwards
Hansen
Kawajiri

2003 GP:
Liddell
Overeem
Bustamante
Rampage
Silva
Yoshida
Tamura
Sakuraba

Both tournaments all these guys were in their prime. (Exception could be Overeem but he was a handful for anyone at 205 back then)

2003 GP takes it with 2000 2nd and 2005 3rd.

imagine if 2000 had shamrock, severn, gilbert yvel etc.

got rid of most of my MMA dvd/VHS collection a few years back, but I will never get rid of my 2000 GP VHS tapes.
