Why is Nate Diaz still ranked?

I was just wondering why Nate Diaz - 32 months from his last apperance and with no fight in sight - is still a ranked UFC lightweight.

Any thoughts? I can't recall another instance of a guy who has been inactive this long without losing his spot.

Don't know. These media outlets need to develop written policies about how they rank fighters. For starters:

-Anyone who hasn't fought in the past, say, 15 months gets dropped.

-Fighters will only be ranked in one division. That division will be the last one they fought in three consecutive times.

When Khabib was semi retired he was still consistently ranked highly
It doesn’t really matter what he’s ranked anyway

That really is one of the biggest jokes in the UFC. Two and half years since his last fight. Don’t forget the last two were at WW. His last LW fight was over 3 years ago.

They need to keep his bogus ranking up there in case they do joke trilogy with those two clowns. Everything about those two and the UFC is a shit show. He’s obviously retired.

I think he beats lee similar to Ferguson, he has a good guard
Him and Conor is 50/50
Him vs ferg is 50/50 aswell imo
Khabib destroys
He beats AL
Though non top 5 fighters can beat him

It’s not like there is a lack of good fighters in that division. Charles Oliveira is on a run right now and he isn’t even ranked.
