The above tweet came in response to a Project Veritas video detailing alleged misconduct by a man allegedly associated with Omar. The video tracks Liban Mohamed, brother of Jamal Osman, a sitting City Council member in Minneapolis, one whom voted to advance a ballot measure eliminating the police department back in June, as he allegedly drives around collecting hundreds of ballots from the East Somali community in Minneapolis in exchange for money or other favors. The goal was to fill out those ballots with votes in support of his brother. While there is no direct evidence he paid for ballots-- he wasn't quite stupid enough to film himself doing this-- his comments in the video strongly suggest it. Whistleblower Omar Jamal is the one who alleges that both Osman and Mohamed ultimately report back to and work for Ilhan Omar.

Project Veritas has a checkered history with a deeply partisan bias, beset by videos employing selective editing to mislead viewers, or even outright fallacious claims, but they sometimes have legitimately exposed the dirty laundry of Democrats or other powerful liberal institutions.

Trump amplified this story's platform with a tweet:

Predictably The Daily Mail followed up with coverage:
Minneapolis police opens investigation into reports that Ilhan Omar's supporters 'illegally harvested Democrat ballots in Minnesota'
The Daily Mail said:
  • Minneapolis police on Monday evening confirmed they were investigating
  • The police are looking in to claims of voter fraud made by Project Veritas
  • The media group allege that Ilhan Omar's supporters were 'ballot harvesting'
  • Omar Jamal, a Somali political operative, claimed those in the video back Omar
  • 'Ballot harvesting,' or 'ballot collection,' is legal in more than half of US states
  • It allows third parties to collect ballots on behalf of physically-impaired voters
  • But Republicans have claimed that the practice is vulnerable to voter fraud
  • In Minnesota a third party can return only three ballot papers
  • Trump hopes to win key swing state of Minnesota in upcoming election

James O'Keefe of Project Veritas claimed that Omar's alleged backers were illegally harvesting ballots.

According to O'Keefe, Minneapolis resident Liban Mohamed - said to be a supporter of Omar - illegally collected some 300 ballots from primarily Somali immigrants to help his brother, City Councilman Jamal Osman.

Under Minnesota state law, only three absentee ballots can be collected by any one person.

Yet it was also the leading story across Minnesota today across all news outlets. The Minnesota Free Press offers the best coverage of the story, IMO, with a succinct definition of ballot harvesting for those curious, and also why this particular activity may have actually been briefly legal:
WHAT IS BALLOT HARVESTING?
The absentee ballot handling practice in question is known as ballot harvesting or ballot collection: allowing political operatives and others to collect voters’ completed, sealed ballots and turn them in all at once to election offices. Both major political parties routinely engage in the practice.

How many ballots one person can submit has varied in Minnesota, depending on court rulings.

A state law limited the number to three. But earlier this year, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee both sued to eliminate Minnesota’s voter assistance limits, calling them unconstitutional.

In July, Ramsey County District Judge Thomas Gilligan sided with a legal challenge and the cap was lifted.

The Republican Party of Minnesota and Republican National Committee appealed the case and successfully petitioned the state Supreme Court, which ruled Sept. 4 to keep the number at three, which is what it will be for the Nov. 3 election.

“And so what we’re left with is a window of time where it was perfectly legal for a person to return more than three ballots,” said Risikat Adesaogun, Minnesota secretary of state office spokesperson. “And of course the primary fell right in that window at Aug. 11.”

PARTY LEADERS REACT
Republican Party of Minnesota chair Jennifer Carnahan called on Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman and Attorney General Keith Ellison “to investigate the apparent voter fraud exposed in the video,” in a Monday statement. “If this video is accurate, the MN DFL has been engaged in widespread voter fraud and has been manipulating elderly immigrants"...

Leading the GOP charge is Rep. Steve Drazkowski, R-Mazeppa, who announced in a press conference Monday morning that he was the one who contacted Project Veritas before the primary election in August after hearing numerous complaints from Somali citizens and being frustrated with what he felt was the FBI’s lack of progress on voter fraud investigation...

ST. PAUL’S OMAR JAMAL WEIGHS IN
Quoted in the video is Omar Jamal, who Project Veritas identifies as chairman of the Somali Watch Dog Group, whose website — which was registered a little over a month ago — says its purpose is to combat “fraud, corruption and abuse of power.”

Jamal has been a go-to source for journalists on the Minneapolis Somali community for the past 20 years. He’s been quoted by the New York Times on the civil unrest in Minneapolis and in the Washington Post criticizing Omar’s anti-Semitic comments in 2019. He’s been interviewed by several national television stations over the years on a variety of topics including the radicalization of Somali youths.

Jamal is a civilian community service outreach person for the Ramsey County sheriff’s office.

In the video, Jamal assists Project Veritas by secretly recording conversations with people involved in the alleged voter fraud scheme. He said Mohamed and others work for Omar, and he further accused Omar’s office of buying votes.

THE SCHEME ALLEGED
An anonymous source, who is identified as a former political worker, explains the “ballot harvesting scheme” in the video.

Operatives go to apartment buildings in the Somali community in Omar’s district, she said. They talk to the elders and the women and ask for their absentee ballots. They take pictures of their Social Security cards and driver’s licenses. Then, they fill out the ballots and file them. They keep the information in a database and track who is getting the ballots for the next election, the woman says.

Jamal said first-generation immigrants who don’t understand the U.S. election system are the ones primarily targeted.

“They came from a military government,” he said. “That’s the only system that they know.”
The most widely circulated newspaper in the state, the Star Tribune, also covered it as their top trending headline. Their coverage offers a few additional tidbits:
Trump seizes on conservative group's claim of fraud in Minneapolis election
Omar Jamal, a Somali political operative, told Veritas that he believes ballot harvesters in the community are hired and take advantage of elderly community members and that Fifth District U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar is connected to the alleged election fraud...

Minnesota House Minority Leader Kurt Daudt, R-Crown, and Rep. Jim Nash, R-Waconia, Republican Lead on the House Elections Committee, sent a letter to Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon urging an investigation.

If so, it demonstrates why this practice is so troubling. It and similar tactics are commonly exploited by dictatorial parties in countries with corrupt governments. Venezuela is a prime example. If you review threads from the last several years on Sherdog, you'll find documentary footage showing Venezuelan bureaucrats traveling to villages, and handing out food or credit vouchers in exchange for various political favors such as registration to their party, or signatures on petitions. Maduro is accused of using a food program linked to a national identification card to intimidate voters into voting for him. Allowing those to forward ballots on behalf of physically disabled voters was never intended to allow organized farming of votes by party officials.

It's easy to understand why immigrants from countries with historically corrupt governments, like Somalia, are so vulnerable to this abuse.

It's going to be an issue in the next few months. Stories like the following aren't going to go away:
Confessions of a voter fraud: I was a master at fixing mail-in ballots
NY Post said:
A top Democratic operative says voter fraud, especially with mail-in ballots, is no myth. And he knows this because he’s been doing it, on a grand scale, for decades.

Mail-in ballots have become the latest flashpoint in the 2020 elections. While President Trump and the GOP warn of widespread manipulation of the absentee vote that will swell with COVID polling restrictions, many Democrats and their media allies have dismissed such concerns as unfounded...

His dirty work has taken him through the weeds of municipal and federal elections in Paterson, Atlantic City, Camden, Newark, Hoboken and Hudson County and his fingerprints can be found in local legislative, mayoral and congressional races across the Garden State. Some of the biggest names and highest office holders in New Jersey have benefited from his tricks, according to campaign records The Post reviewed.

“An election that is swayed by 500 votes, 1,000 votes — it can make a difference,” the tipster said. “It could be enough to flip states.”

The whisteblower — whose identity, rap sheet and long history working as a consultant to various campaigns were confirmed by The Post — says he not only changed ballots himself over the years, but led teams of fraudsters and mentored at least 20 operatives in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania — a critical 2020 swing state.

They are explicitly buying votes.

"It's an open secret that everybody knows it"

"80,000 of immigrants votes will swing this election to one side"

800 bucks? For a vote?That equals 6,4 million.
It's a sure deal when even the election judges are in it.
These people have deep pockets.
Where is this money coming from?
DOC? Soros? Somalia? Muslim Brotherhood?
Nothing would surprise me at this point.

I made it to the end of the video and a former worker of Ilhan says that palestinian Badim Sabri is the man pulling the strings and financing the whole deal. Supposedly she will propose to "defund" Israel money in return.

Heh, same shit different cow.

One way or another Muslims tend to vote as a block in free societies. A socially conservative bunch that vote left. Odd, isn't it?
Well why not? They get preferential treatment from the left? They get tokens their own super conservative customs while getting welfare, what's to lose?

I prefer the one that has Islam written on the tree. But hey, it's this. Bringing in non productive people's tend two's criminality and are clannish is just asking for massive social problems
