He's 60 million in dead money. No way around it
"This represents significant savings for Philadelphia if they can move on. Trading Wentz saves the Eagles $25.4 million in salaries that would be paid in 2021 and $15 million in salary that would become guaranteed in 2022. While the overall situation is still bad (they would have paid Wentz an extra $29.6M more than if they just let his rookie deal play out) the optics would be much improved if they made this move"

I think theyll find a dance partner pretty easily. In fact, I think they’d even have a buyer in their own division with WFT.

Cap is easier to swallow/come up with than early round 1 draft picks for “franchise qb” type prospects. Wentz may be playing like shit but theyre not doing him any favors, and hes a couple years removed from an MVP run.

And to top it off, the Eagles have jack and shit for leverage to demand much of anything in return for trading him. At this point it would be doing them a favor.

Why would a team trade for a quarterback that the Eagles have benched? This seems to be an overly optimistic view from an Eagles fan who thinks the Colts would trade a first round pick for Carson Wentz as well as take over the big contract just because a coach knows Wentz.

There are many quarterbacks who will be unrestricted free agents next year that are as good [or bad] as Carson Wentz has been and will cost much less.

None of them besides Dak have sniffed Wentz capabilities and Dak isnt going anywhere.

I doubt many are taking a good look at Philly’s situation and concluding that Wentz is the sole problem.

No one is giving up a first for Wentz. A team is doing philly a favor, their dead money is like 34M this year instead of 60M by trading him. Not to mention future savings. Team that takes the contract is getting him for 2 years 48m basically (can cut with 0 dead money after that). Still risky to commit 24M a year for Wentz, but a good team that has no other options? Indy will draft too late for a QB, has a good OL, and wentz had a MVP type season under their HC.

3rd time this season for GOAT Allen

Wentz has issues but a ton of the issues is the team around him. His oline is just, bad given they lost a guy to retirement and several others to injuries before the season even started and his receiving corps is.... yeah.

I don’t think Wentz and the Eagles situation is much worse than last year.

Colts do make sense but $50M is a lot to take on for no guarantee you don’t have a broken QB.

Should be a fun way to close out the season.

Unless Wentz agrees to restructure I doubt any team wants to take on that contract.

Rivers isnt it, is expensive, and theyre playing too well to have a crack at any of the top QBs. They have a good o-line and a great defense. Really, really good potential there to get him right with protection.

If he flames out then theyre in the mix for drafting a QB.

Cowboys flexed out of prime time for Browns/Giants.

Just when you think the NFC Least is losing some
prime time spots....

Nothing is stopping them from drafting a QB in the mid to late first next year either.

Either a rookie or a $50M Wentz is going to be a gamble.

Epic that Brownies/GiGuys has been flexed. That’s back-to-back prime time games for the Browns!

Sure. I just think the odds are significantly better righting the ship with Wentz than landing a franchise QB later in the draft.
