We all can agree Bellator has a better LHW division. They got Machida, Phil Davis, Yoel and Rumble just signed. Dana knows this and wants to bring Izzy into the fold to make sure Bellator doesn't have a huge advantage because right now they do. That's why Glover vs Jan wasn't booked over Jan vs Izzy.

He doesn't give a shit about Bellator's LHW division. Should he fear that some SDers think it's better than the UFC's LHW division? I'm sure he's losing money from all those SDers pirating from both orgs.

He could have made Izzy vs Jones, but no... he decided to make Izzy vs Jan, that will show Bellator

Dana couldn't give a fuck less about Belloltor. He probably listened to their commentary a few times and watched a couple shows and laughed.

No it's just to set up the CHAMP CHAMP vs CHAMP CHAMP if both Izzy and Jones can become champ champ. It's the long game, but both need to be able to pull it off.

You're thinking too shortsighted. It's the set up for Champ Champ vs Champ Champ if Izzy and Jones can both pull it off. Bigger fight when it happens if they both are able to become Champ Champs. It's the long game.

If either of them fail, they can still do the match up in the future so no loss either way. Just a gamble for a bigger super fight in the future.

Champ Champ only counts if you have two titles at the same time though..Jones will not be considered Champ Champ

Why don't the bellator fanboys so suck off belator on a bellator platform. Because who in their right minds pretends a jv squad is better than the pros in any capacity. These are like the same people who believed kimbo would kicks everyone's ass in the pros.

He vacated, it's still a double champ vs double champ. Especially if he drops down to fight Izzy at LHW for the belt he never lost. It would be a unification title fight.

That is a different scenario to a Champ Champ vs Champ Champ one though, but a fun one none the less.
Will be interesting to see what they do with the MW belt whilst Izzy surfs the divisions above.

Champ Champ means being champ in more than 1 division so it doesn't have to be actively holding both belts currently. Since Jones Vacated to chase the HW belt they can still market it as champ champ and LHW belt is what Jones and Izzy will have in common and most likely will be fighting for.

So if Izzy is the current MW and LHW Champ, and Jones is the Current HW Champ, they can fight for the LHW that Jones vacated. So it can still be champ champ vs champ champ for unification of the LHW title.

As previously stated Dana doesn't give a shit about Bellator.

Nah all the examples of Champ Champ are simultaneously 2 holders at the same time.. Conor, Nunes, DC and Cejudo... GSP on the other hand is not considered Champ Champ. It's by their own definition and who the UFC consider Champ Champ.
The unification part is true, though likely by the time that matchup happens Izzy is no longer MW Champ anymore.

Jones is getting pretty big, not sure if he's ever planning on going to 205 again. And Izzy is never going to HW. Doubt this fight ever happens.

I agree with the first part, but why do you think Izzy is never going to HW?
