Social Florida COVID Death Rate Tops California

The numbers are similar. All this proves is that both approaches had similar effect. Which is probably very little.
It proves no such thing. It proves doing a half-assed job is hardly better than doing nothing when it comes to enacting public health measures against a global pandemic.

My province in Canada has had zero deaths or hospitalizations due to COVID 19 despite there being hundreds of cases. We never had any community spread because we followed the recommended public health measures, temporary closure, mask wearing, and physical distancing--around here we don't shit where we eat.

New York and Calif still has the largest death tolls from Covid. These two states were the states where they had their massive lockdowns.

Iiiiiits tiiiiiiime.

In the blue corner California blah blah blah.

In the red corner Florida blah blah blah.

Referees blah blah blah. Lets get it on.

Florida's aging population with no lockdowns and there was only a 10% difference? LOL at the suckers in California.
To date, only a 10% difference. You all think this is over. It’s only going to get worse for Florida. It’s not like DeSanti is going to wake up one morning and do the right thing. The virus hit Cali first.

The two largest populations have the most deaths, who’d have thunk it? That’s why deaths/1 million is a better judge as it take total population out of the picture.

There is a direct correlation (in addition to population) that states that have lower IQ averages have higher Covid cases.

"For every million residents of California, 1,385 Californians have died of COVID-19. But for every million residents of Florida, 1,538 Floridians have died of COVID-19."

For me, this comes down to nothing more than how this pandemic was handled. Republicans downplayed it and more people died as a result.Governor Newsom meanwhile did a great job in Cali and saved thousands of lives. Science is very real folks, but Trump, DeSantis, and the do-nothing GOP made it political.

EDIT: People are apparently too stupid to understand why this is impressive. The reason is population density. The virus should be much more damaging, per capita, in California because the proximity that people live to each other. The elderly argument is offset by the fact that California how so much more dense of a population. None of you will ever understand that. California has multiple cities where people live in highly dense urban areas. San Diego, LA, Oakland, SF. The Coronavirus is much more dangerous and apt to spread in those areas. And yet California STILL had less of a death rate than Florida. Even more impressive.

I have being following much of the covid on the google map most of the red states in general had the lowest death rates.

You must not know how to read a map then because in order for you to come to this conclusion means you don’t know or your source is Tucker.

Its 50/50 top 10. It’s 12 Red 8 Blue top 20. No rational person would say that’s most.

Maybe you should just bow out of the COVID discussions until you educate yourself a bit more. Being wrong over and over doesn’t help.

California had a MUCH bigger problem to begin with because of demographics and travel patterns. The fact that Florida ended up in a worse situation speaks volumes. I lived in Florida for quite some time. There are hardly any Asian people there and little travelers between there and Asia. States like California and New York got hit the hardest initially because of aforementioned reasons. The fact that states like Florida or North Dakota ended up being disproportionately affected shows how poorly it was handled there.

I’m still waiting for the first wave in NY...<Moves>

So one state went totalitarian lock down and another went Wild West and the Wild West was only slightly worse than the totalitarian and you’re praising the totalitarian?
It's sort of revisionist history to say or suggest that Florida never had lock downs. Tom Brady couldn't even play catch with a few teammates in the park in Tampa during the off season last year because of lock downs. They were forced to do lock downs because of how bad it got there at times. Granted, they had less lock downs than California.

doesnt look like lockdowns accomplished much, according to these numbers, although there are many unquantifiable variables. My feeling from this is that California did not accomplish much except the destruction of small business and a likely increase in substance abuse.

Got to die sometimes. Might as well tell the Covid Gestapo to fuck off while doing it and enjoy your life as much as you can.
