You know, where the fighter puts his index finger up to his lips and goes "shhhh" like you do to a child.
I hate that shit.
I don't get why someone would to hush the crowd from cheering for their performance?
Whoever started that is on my list. Js
 
I thought it was meant to represent silencing the critics, not silencing the crowd. Though it's an interesting question of who popularized it.

This. And one guy does it and now every unoriginal dork does the same.

Boxers cant do it cos their gloves prevent it.

They are not shushing the crowd,they are silencing their haters and critics,and possibly the opponent who maybe ran their mouth
