Is Pereira more talented than Adesanya or just a bad matchup?

Is it just a situation where Adesanya may be better but Alex has his number, or is Pereira better? Bad matchup. As a straight-up kickboxer, Israel is the more versatile and talented guy but Pereira just has the style to give him nightmares - huge, powerful, aggressive, always coming forward.

In striking, I think Izzy is the better technical fighter but Pereira's power changes everything.

Perreira is a better specialist, in striking terms he is a sniper



He has shown higher fight iq than izzy now twice...in their second fight he lulled izzy into brawling with him which opened up that rushing left hook from hell.

In this 3rd fight in mma, izzy displayed poor fight iq when backing up constantly to the outer ring where he got himself ko'd. Plus the backing up in a straight line at times.




Alex just has his number.

Strength and luck made the difference. Izzy lost twice at the very end of two fights against him. Sometimes the dice rolls for you, sometimes it doesn't.
Skill wise, they seemed quite on par yesterday.

At the same time, he is better as well.

If Pereira had gotten into MMA at the same time he would have been even more dominant, yes.

Not the same size, Alex looked a weight class bigger than Izzy, it was actually shocking how much bigger he was.

alex matched his reach and skills. plus has more power. he's a LHW though. like most people with those reach attributes.

Apples and oranges. You can't say Izzy is the better fighter when he is 0-2, and then 0-1 against the guy in MMA.

Izzy should be the superior fighter by being more technical, having the overall more complete striking arsenal, but as they say power is the great equalizer

That’s should be what obviously sets them apart, but IMO Alex is just that much more durable and has come back from the brink multiple times..
