Matching Up Paddy Pimblett

The UFC doesnt want Paddy to derail an up and comer like Fisiev, or retiring older fighters

Quick top 5 fight and then TS imo

Speaking against this idea

Paddy bless

Crazy that Paddy probably loses to anyone in the top 50 not named Jordan Levitt.

Feed him to Guida, test his wrestling and cardio. Guida also wins a lot of bad decisions via shaking his head and looking active cause his hair moves.

I actually think that is a very real possibility. I could easily see the UFC going that way. No stirking threat, and paddy is good enough on the ground he should be able to win that.

Also if you look at 31-45 there are some options, but there are also a lot of people from 45 to 1 who I think would beat Paddy or give him a really tough night.

A really fun/interesting one for me would be Michael Johnson. The guy could easily smoke Paddy or do the Michael Johnson and get smoked by Paddy, haha. I think he's too much of a wild card/risk for UFC to match him up with Paddy though. But that is a name fans recognize.

Guida, Dan Hooker, TS

Sounds like a great idea

I could also see them skipping the Title Shot and going Guida in March in UK, then McGregor for international fight week. Might be their best shot to make that happen and it's a win win. If Conor loses, Paddy gets all the hype in the world for a Title shot, if Paddy loses, McGregor is back in the win column which gives them tons of options and Paddy probably doesn't take a huge hit considering.

Aren't they fucking awsome?

I can see this happening

I basically see Pimblett as a grappler with opportunistic subs, questionable wrestling, some power in his hands, a good chin, and questionable striking defense.

#29 Claudio Puelles would be a very interesting matchup - grappler vs. leg lock specialist, and Paddy would have the striking advantage. Both hold wins over Jordan Leavitt (Puelles by decision, Paddy by sub). However since Puelles is coming off a loss (on the main card of a PPV to Dan Hooker), pairing them together might seem like the UFC admitting Paddy really lost his last fight.

Assuming the UFC wants to protect Paddy a little bit, I would worry about him against anyone ranked or against really explosive strikers but I'd feel comfortable with Paddy against any of the unranked grapplers in the division. A match with someone like Jim Miller, Clay Guida, Joe Solecki, Vinc Pichel or Mark O. Madsen might make sense.

If they want to push him probably Dan Hooker or Damir Ismagulov. If they want to bring him up slower than a guy like Brad Riddell or Diego Ferreira.

The guy I'd like to see him fight is Arman. HUGE step up for Paddy but the time is now.

paddys best bang for the buck would be hooker.

he might be able to beat him.

other than that, he gets sparked by anyone above him in rank,

and thats only if he wrestlefucks hooker
