Similar as in both good grapplers and in appearance, but striking very different
 
Similar looking bodies & tats, totally different fighting though.
 
Lol stop Mir was a BJJ guy, he was slow and didnt have the boxing Tom has. He isn't close to the athlete Aspinal is.

Aspinal speed and athleticism for a HW is comparable to prime Fedor. But what's wild is Aspinal is 260 lbs while Fedor was around 225-230
 
Only the hair style and goatee. Aspinall is way more athletic, it's not even close. Mir wouldn't even be classified as an athletic HW.

Umm, Frank Mir was the UFC HW Champion of the world.

Mir beat Tim Sylvia when Tim Sylvia was the undefeated HW Champion of the world.

Mir got into a career-ending motorcycle accident after that. It could have killed him. Would have killed most people.

Some how Mir survived. Not only did he survive, he somehow managed to return to the cage. That's just insane. I think he was inches away from losing his leg altogether.

Mir would embark on another crazy run. He is also the only person to beat pre-diverticulitis Lesnar.

First person to stop Big Nog, and he did it by strikes... outboxing the Pan American boxing bronze medalist in Nogueira.

Folks who said Mir doesn't have good striking, need to rewatch that fight.


Mir has way more ranked wins than Aspinall. Not even close. That too in an era when the HW division was stacked.


Anybody who says that Aspinall is light years ahead of Mir just because he beat Curtis Blaydes and Pavlovich, need to stop watching this sport.

Mir is LIGHTYEARS ahead. Aspinall can only dream of having half as a successful career.

I'm getting some Teófilo Stevenson vibes. Better combos and footwork though not sure if the same power, yet.
