I find it really hard to look at the circumstances around the second Islam fight and truly believe that it affects his legacy more than a bit. He was a few weeks off an elbow surgery, he was clearly chubbier, he weighed less than their first fight, he had a 10 day camp, no gameplan, no real way to win other than “let’s see what happens“ it was a stupid decision but also the worst version of volk we’ve probably ever seen except for melatonin gate volk in the second max fight which he still managed to win

Would a full training camp have prepared Volk for that 1st Round, perfectly-placed and perfectly timed scalp-shot? He started out okay, forcing Islam to the cage and threw some rabbit punches.
