John Moraga says he has fought elite fighters with very little in the way of compensation, making only 17k for his title shot and having entering contract negotiations on the heels of three straight losses, did not get a raise.

Says he would accept another shot but his priority right now is making money for his family, and wants some easy guys to get a streak together for when his current contract is up. Makes you think if he can get more money elsewhere, he might leave when his contract is up.

Strange, because given the state of the division I think he's only two, maybe three wins from a shot at the moment.

What are your thoughts on this, sherdogs?

Good for him. Not sure why fans are so bent out of shape about guys like Askren making easy money in One FC and shit.

I don't see why people should choose a harder path to money, unless it's about ego.

Can't blame him at all. He's a fairly well known fighter for his weight class and making 17k for any title shot is despicable.

So this is the "elite level" competition Demetrious is facing? 17k for a TS?????

Ufc gonna UFC.

Moraga is awesome and deserves support.
Dangerous on the feet and ground.

$17,000 for a title shot is criminal.

His management sucks or he just needed the money. He's a banger though, exciting fighter. Pay this man.

All he has to do is start trolling and running his mouth. These guys haven't figured it out yet.

Some athletes have to work full time to pay to represent their own country at the Olympics.

If the champion does it, why can't he?

Problem is the easy fights don't pay especially in a division that has no money anyway due to the casual fans lack of respect for the smaller weight classes.
Big checks come with big names.

He's like one of the 3 flyweight in the world with power who is exciting pay the fucking man god damn.
