Watching the NASCAR race at Texas and the in car camera showing it's 122.9 degrees inside the car.

Hard to believe a small piece of tape on the grill was enough of a change to allow Harvick to catch and pass Truex. Usually Truex is great on the long runs and Harvick's cars fall off at the end of a run. Truex talked like his car fell off so bad but it was only in relation to Harvick. He was maintaining the gap to everyone else.

There probably won't be a Chevrolet in the final 4 unless Johnson or Elliott can win at Phoenix. Chevrolet's best chance this season was Kyle Larson. It just seems like Hendrick gave him bad engines for the playoffs to try to get Johnson or Elliott a better chance.

Mercedes fastest in both practices today. Ferrari might be holding back again until qualifying to turn the power up. If they aren't, and Hamilton and Bottas are running first and second, I wonder if Hamilton would let Bottas pass to get the point lead over Vettel if Vettel was behind or out of the race. Would Hamilton take Vettel out to allow Mercedes to finish the season 1-2?

They were talking more about Ferrari threatening to pull out of Formula One. Ferrari gets a $68 million payment that nobody else gets for being a long standing team. Liberty Media is considering doing away with that payment which is why Ferrari is pouting. Despite finishing 3rd last season, Ferrari got $180 million while Mercedes got $171 million, Red Bull $161 million, McClaren $97 million, Williams $79 million, Force India $72 million, Toro Rosso $59 million, Renault $52 million, Sauber $49 million and Hass $19 million. Hass missed out on 32 million because they are only in their second year.

It's easy to see why it's so difficult to improve with the money disparity. Haas operating with just over 1/10th of what Ferrari gets. 6 of the 10 teams under 1/2 the money that Ferrari gets. They want to split that $68 million among the 10 teams.

Of course teams get money from sponsors too.

Hamilton crashes at the start of the first qualifying session and is out of qualifying. Will start far back but there are cars with over 20 grid spot penalties so he won't be at the very back.

Bottas pulls out the pole in the last run with some sprinkles of rain. Vettel second and Raikkonen third.

It was good to see Kenseth win in his 2nd last race. He is another great character that Nascar is losing. He needed that win as he's has a rough last few weeks.

watched a whole feature on how much he is liked in the pack.
nice to see good guys finish first sometimes.

How would you feel going into a championship race running engines you get from another team also competing in the championship? Truex has to wonder about that.

Formula One teams getting robbed in Brazil so the planned tire test is cancelled. You'd think they were in Indianapolis!

Danica Patrick announces she will end her racing career by running in the Daytona 500 and the Indy 500 next season.

Seeing the drivers changing seats and gaining and losing rides and most of them are because of what sponsorship money they can or can't bring to a team.

Danica was a good looking young woman who was an average driver but could bring a lot of money just being a good looking young woman in a mans world at the peak of the woman's liberation movement. GoDaddy was riding the crest of the internet's rise and they sponsored her. Eventually it came out that GoDaddy was losing money and hadn't made a profit since 2009. Natures Bakery wasn't able to meet their commitment and sponsors where hard to find. The novelty of a female NASCAR driver had worn off.

Sponsors want to get involved with a young driver that might be on their way to the top. Many successful drivers are losing rides because they don't have sponsors including past champion Matt Kenseth. Carl Edwards may have quit racing for the same reason. They're all reported to be worth over 50 million so being unemployed shouldn't be a hardship unless they spend unwisely.

always liked her
