Unexpected great session.

Can't remember the last time I did hang snatches, much less power hang snatches, but they felt great. When 175 was cake I knew I might have an actual PR in me. Really happy with 192 for a 12lb PR and the most I've ever power snatched in any form. It's also only 3lbs under my current max snatch, so hopefully that's a sign for an upcoming big PR.

Cleans and jerk felt pretty good. Did a much better job of pulling myself under bar instead of divebombing. Also narrowed my grip a bit which I think made my rack position much more stable. Jerks were good but I think the narrower grip makes them a bit tougher.

Snatches felt great through the doubles at 170. So I was surprised when I missed 185 behind, which I almost never do and then second attempt was pretty shaky.

Power cleans and jerks felt great though. Good to get back to split jerking, as it's felt a little off as of late.

Woke up Friday coughing up silver dollar sized globs of mucus, along with a pretty bad sore throat. So took the last few days off to rest.

Snatches felt great. 160 triple and 170 double were cake, missed attempt at a 185 double but thought ehh fuck it and surprised myself by hitting 200 my first try. All 4 attempts at 205 were just a hair out in front, so I was able to hold them all overhead for a second before losing them forward.

Jerks felt very strong but got a little sloppy on my attempt at 235. Feet were fucked and pressed it out pretty badly.

Squats felt the strongest they have in a while.

I usually try to keep it to 3 misses before I move on but fuck every attempt at 205 was too close. Called it quits after the ridiculousness of the 6th miss, probably the first time I've ever fallen forward snatching.

Cleans were pretty damn easy.

Jerks felt really good, double at 220 is a PR and was easy enough that I should've made it a triple. Chickened out on the attempt at 250 though, still not fully confident getting under jerks.

Strong but frustrating session. Snatches felt great everything up to 205 was easy. First miss at 205 was so close I thought "fuck it I can probably make 210". All 3 attempts were just fucking painfully close, every one was just a hair in front.

Cleans felt good to start but started getting sloppy at 197. Jerk at 197 was pure garbage yet much more solid at 210. Pulled 230 high enough to almost power clean but it still crushed me on the way down.

Front squat felt the strongest they have since I started doing them again. Stayed pretty upright even at 232.

Just really need to figure out what in the fuck is wrong with my clean.

Yesterday didn't feel especially great and snatches started off feeling like hot garbage but I guess I found a little Christmas magic lol.

Was really hoping to snatch 205 before the new year and happy to finally hit it, despite it being probably the toughest snatch I've ever made.

Clean and jerks started off pretty solid but working up to the second single at 210 drained my legs.

Front squats were slightly better than expecting considering how beat my legs felt.

Last session of the year so I had to try for 210. After missing my first try at 190 I figured it probably wasn't going to happen, though all 5 attempts were actually pretty damn close.

Unfortunately all the tries sapped my legs and the rest of the session was serious struggle.

What a difference 2 days makes, felt night and day different from wednesday.

Told myself that I was just gonna stick to the programs reps today, and while I didn't, it really was amazing how good my legs felt after not doing my usual 10 failed attempts at snatching 210 lol.

Snatches didn't feel particularly great, though I hit the programmed reps with little issue.

This was by far the best cleans have felt in probably months. I wasn't getting crushed by the bar and jerks felt great. Hit 225 for a new max, though the clean was extra tough, then got crushed by 230.

Really wanted to try to jerk 250 but after an ok 230 I just didn't have the confidence to try.

Front squats felt great from a technique standpoint, but my legs really need to get stronger.

What a difference an hour and a cup of coffee makes. Went from struggling to make full lifts at 170 and 185 to easily powering them.

Last heavier session before I max test on saturday.
