Lets say that you're sitting at home with your wife, sipping coffee and watching TV.

Someone knocks on your door, you go to answer it.

At your door, are 10 men armed with guns, telling you that according to their religion, their God told them in their dreams that your property and home belong to them, so you need to leave.

What would you do?

I'm guessing you'd have a problem with that. And if that's the case, then you can understand why the Palestinians are upset.

Just so you know, the Jews bought most of the land they initially settled from Arabs, the problem is that the Arabs they bought them from were large landowning families who were absentee owners that allowed Arab peasants to farm their land. So when the Jews bought the land they had the right to expel the peasants from it but nonetheless this created plenty of resentment which over decades lead to the Arab revolt of 1936-39. Or in other words, the timeline doesn't just start at 1947

Btw, why are we getting all these Israel-Palestine threads again? Seems like the last few years were a bit of a break from them, especially with Hollywood Nicky getting banned.

Ya all those settlements being built outside israel's borders are land that is bought.

I'm talking about before Israel was recognized as a state during the era of Mandatory Palestine, pay attention.

But that was right after ur sky daddy told u u need to live in this area because the dirt is special there

Bought the land? Lol where'd you hear that from, Rupert Murdock? Some land maybe...

Why don't you tell these fine people about the origins and first missions of the Mossad.

Or maybe you can divulge a bit on the Israeli terrorist groups who would go around harassing and expelling innocent Palestinian's by any means, including violence and murder?

You have to remember that even though most of the media is Jewish controlled, the truth is still out there, and will not be hidden.

That might be what youre talking about. But TS was being more general. There are 1000s of homes of palestinians that the israeli givernment deems illegal because getting building permits is almost impossible. When the israelis announce they are building 1000s of more homes/settlements, they arent talking about building a neighbourhood in tel aviv. The settlers dont settle in israel. The settlers also believe it is their religious duty to claim those lands so TS' example stands in that case.

The Jews have what, like a 3000 year claim on that land given them by the God that muslims claim they worship.

Well, it's not really that difficult to understand.
Two people want the same piece of land. But their religious delusion and outside influences are preventing them to come to an acceptable solution for both people.
So the fight goes on until they do or someone gets eradicated.

It's really just like almost all other conflicts in human history.

I'm not saying expulsions didn't happen, just that initially the acquisitions were purchases. Of course expulsions did occur later such as during Al-Nakba but the Jews got their foothold in the region via land purchases and they bought the land at favorable prices too.

I don't agree with that but I'm just setting the record straight on the initial acquisitions.

If its not that difficult to understand why did you get it so wrong? The early Zionists were largely secular and wanted a Jewish homeland because countries like yours exterminated them and the Palestinians were resentful for being displaced as a result of that project.

Actually to give ze Germans credit, it was mainly Eastern European pogroms that triggered Zionist migration to Palestine but you guys proved the Western European Jews who believed they could integrate into their societies wrong bigly.

Anyone that brings up a 3000 year old claim on a piece of land hes never lived in is full of shit. Especially when his family goes back generations to living somewhere else. Im not gonna tolerate the claim of some aboriginal that my house neighbourhood belongs to him because his ancestor 300 years back used it as a hunting ground.

I think their religious beliefs would connect them to the area about 4,000 years before that, according to their chronology.

So are you saying Palestine vs Israel is not a territorial dispute?
What are they fighting about in your opinion?

So why should they get to hog all the special sky daddy dirt? Not very fair, others should at least be allowed to fight for their right to enjoy the magic dirt zone as well

You mentioned religious delusion and I countered that by pointing out early Zionists were mostly secular and the Palestinians grievances were not religious.

Funny then that it wasn't the Jews who continuously lived in Palestine who built Israel but outsiders from Europe who could trace their heritage hundreds of years back on that continent.

This is a good summation.
