I read recently in an interview that Chalangov regularly takes Viagra pills before fights for extra stamina. I just wanted to know if this actually works because I usually gas after about 10 minutes of solid fighting.
Thanks.

it makes him well hard............

I don't see how that could help.

Viagra relaxes smooth muscle tissue, right? But only in the penis, otherwise it would stop your heart or something.

I bet RJKD knows. I just have a hunch. I bet he takes that shit in the morning with his Blackened Bailey's and cigarettes.

Taking viagra before a bout with your chick is one thing....but before an MMA match??

That's borderline GAF...

*patiently awaits Rj's wisdom*

That's gotta be total bullshit. While Viagra may work on the nitric oxide cycle in a similar fashion to OTC bodybuilding supplements like...shit, I dunno, name some overpriced MuscleTech crap, it would in NO WAY help in a fight. In fact, it would hinder your ability.

Sit down, kiddies, it's storytime with Uncle Mike.

When I was single, I was hitting the local bar scene a lot with a buddy who was a GP. I busted him one night with a sampler pack of Viagra stuffed into his jacket pocket.. I was like "WTF, man, your not even 30?!?" He told me he gets shitloads of it sent to his office, and he dabbles with it on the weekends "just for fun". Well of course, I had to try it out.

Needless to say, there was some pretty sore and bewildered ladies in town the next day. But I digress. :icon_twis

When I've taken Viagra, it has:

1) Stuffed up my sinuses like I had a wild chipmunk packing my nasal cavities with fucking acorns. Yes, just that bad.

2) Gave my vision a slightly blue haze. No, I'm not kidding, and no, I didn't take LSD with my Viagra. I've read about this side effect, but I would have never believed it unless it happened to me.

3) Also gave me a slight headache---nothing major, probably due to mild vasodilation and/or the sinus congestion. Also gave me a bad case of dry mouth.

Now----imagine trying to fight in this condition. It makes no godamn sense.

And remember, kids, I'm a trained professional. Don't try this at home.

Haha, bacon, don't hold your breath.

Mick, I don't take that shit. P'shaw, if anything I need shit to keep me down. Maybe one day, when I get as old an undesireable as KK I might need a lil' help.

It inhibits the reuptake of NO. Not the NO you get at GNC, but actual nitrus oxide. It does it all over the body, and this is why viagra was first used as heart medication until people on the trials found another good thing about it.

So, what does all this shit mean? I have no clue. It should increase vasodialation all over the body. This may allow someone to get better O2 exchange at the site of the muscle, therefore possibly increasing recovery time. But, while in a fight your body is already maximally vasodialated so I don't see how that would help. Also, if you get hard while on TV fighting, that is a pretty big deal.

I think its bullshit, but all it takes is someone who fights (read:KK) to get their hands on some (KK is in vegas, should be easy as can be) and take it before regular training.

Does anybody take this shit who doesn't need it? They say its all over campuses but I don't see how it would help unless you are too wasted or something to get it up.

Um, it does work *(with a caveat).

Viagra improves blood flow, and yes it can help you quite a bit. The US military has been considering the use of viagra in the military. They found out it helps high altitude athletes so they're considering using it for military in afghanistan.

Of course this is high altitude stuff so I'm not sure if it'll actually help in a fight when the altitude is normal, but it sounds like for sure it'd help you if you were fighting in the mountains. I haven't read anything about it helping in normal conditions.

source if you're curious

Personally I've never tried it but I've heard it's great...

Even if you're young and "virile", supposedly it's great because you can basically have a whole lotta sex. Apparently it lets you go as many times as you feel like going (it's supposedly super easy to get "ready" plus it supposedly cuts your down time by a whole lot). Shrug I have no idea though. I've also heard some people take it the first time they're with a new person if they're the type to get nervous with someone new.

Great. I'm really glad you posted the source. I think its interesting that only 4 out of the 10 responded. The article suggested this,

The researchers are uncertain why only four of the riders responded to Viagra, but they noticed that they were the ones whose times suffered most at high altitude when they took only a placebo. Viagra merely allowed them to make up the performance they lost.

I find that pretty interesting. It can increase vasodialation to whatever a persons "maximum" is, but it doesn't seem to increase the absolute maximum.

As far as military troops, almost 100% should respond because I doubt many of them are in their max condition considering the stress war and the situation puts on you.

Viagra made me so sick that I had to stop having sex because I thought I was going to puke. First and last time.

If fighting with hard dick works for you...
