Conor never asked for easy fights or money fights like these other posers

Conor also never defended a title, and quite honestly, that's what he'll be remembered for.

You actually have a good point, the problem though is that conor is just not fighting anyone now.

Defend or Vacate or Defecate

We get it TS, you are another of the hundreds of nuthuggers irish jabroni has on this forum.

#DefendOrVacate.

The mental gymnastics Conor nuthuggers go through to justify Floyd giving him a panty night is amazing lmao. Conor is Floyd's bastard son who can't even afford his shoe collection.

And Conor did Floyd the favor? LMAO

F*king Connie casuals...

No camp Mendes = easy fight.

Aldo = Killer champion. Greatest win.

RDA = the chance to win a new belt without risking his own.

No camp Nate = easy fight, still lost it.

Full camp Nate = became the money fight because Conor lost the first. Again, his belt not in line.

Eddie = see RDA above.

Floyd = money fight where everybody with half a brain knew he would lose while making millions anyway. Serves as an excuse to duck the killers at 155.

It's crystal clear Conor only takes risky fights when he has everything to win and nothing to lose.

PS.: Tyron's lame attempts at hand picking opponents and whining while doing it are even worse. At least Conor fights exciting.
fighting a wrestler on 2 weeks notice when preparing for a striker when It was thought that his kryptonite would be a strong wrestler, definitely not an easy fight. Same fight where he looked like skeletor and had one of the scariest weigh ins I've ever seen and reportedly tore his acl again during camp. This was also after a ridiculously extensive promotional world tour, having Conor pull out too would've been devastating..which Is probably a big reason he showed up despite such circumstances. Still, he showed up and managed to pull It out. With the way It seemed to go down, It's hard for me not to respect that one.

Fighting Nate on a few weeks notice at welterweight when preparing for a completely different style opponent, again..not an easy fight.

fighting opponents on short notice is a huge risk for all parties involved, that's what a lot of people don't really understand.

There's a reason why Jon Jones of all people refused to fight Chael sonnen on short notice.

Fighting a completely different style opponent on short notice is a huge risk. Saying you have nothing to lose is absolutely ridiculous. In these cases, It Is actually the challenger who has nothing to lose.

Taking that 2nd nate fight again at 170 pounds and allowing Nate to come In as a decent sized welterweight, again a huge risk..Conor being a guy who'd been fighting at 145 pounds throughout his UFC career.

Whether you love or hate Conor, this is the reality but I think some are only Interested In validating their own narrative / confirmation bias.

The narrative that Conor has only looked for easy fights / money fights Is a strange one no matter how you look at It.

and seems to be quite opposite of the truth..

He thought Diaz was the easiest fight he could pick at the time and then got fucked up!
had nothing to do with being an easy fight, everything to do with being the best fight from a business standpoint that could be made. There was a backstory that could be built upon.

Frankie was actually offered the fight first iirc but turned It down.

I’m not even a big Conor fan but TS is spot on. I’m sick of hearing people say Conor is a money fight chaser, it’s just not true, at least not the way in they say it. As Champions Bisping and Woodley wanted to fight big name opponents they felt they have a very good chance of beating. Conor always fought at step up by challenging 155 belt holder RDA and 155 belt holder Alvarez and even Floyd. Woodley is trying to fight guys who are basically retired (Nick Diaz and GSP) or who fight 15 pounds lighter (Nate). Bispings first defense was against Hendo who I don’t even think was ranked in the top 10, and then a retired GSP.

Ahh, pretty sure the only one's that will simply remember Conor for never defending a title will be this guy:

<Gordonhat>

Other than the minority of mentally ill professional Conor haters that dwell in the basement of Sherdog, I'm pretty sure he will be remembered as one of the greatest and most exciting talents MMA has ever seen, a revolutionary mixed martial artist and possibly the greatest businessman that the fight game has ever seen.

Oh yah, and this:

What Tyrone and some of these other guys dont get is that Conor did exactly the opposite of what they are doing.

Aldo was a killer. He wasnt an easy fight or a money fight. Nobody bought aldo ppv's.

Mendes wasnt a draw and conor fought him on 2 weeks notice.

RDA was a killer at the time at 155 and nobody bought his ppv's.

Nate Diaz never sold ppvs and COnor fought him on 2 weeks notice.

Conor always went after the toughest guys and slept them.

COnor didnt chase the money fight. He went after killers and Conor became the money fight.

FLoyds ppv before conor barely sold 400k buys. Floyd went after the money fight which was Conor.

Conor made money but again boxing floyd was a tough fight. Certainly not easy.

Case after case Conor went after the toughest fights and for the most part beat their ass.

That's the blueprint.

Not the crying like a baby blueprint that Tyrone and some of these other guys are doing. calling out easy fights and all this other nonsense.

These guys cant even hold Conors Jock Strap.

Do you mean except for those two times he hand picked replacements because he knew they weren’t in the gym training? I agree the all other times it was the UFC protecting their investment.

Kid, STFU.
Conor didn't fight him on 2 weeks Notice. He was training and had a full camp. It was MENDES who fought on 2 weeks notice (exactly because Conor chose Mendes - who was out hunting - instead of Frankie - who was in the gym training)

Conor didn't fight Nate on 2 weeks Notice. He was training and had a full camp. It was NATE who fought on 2 weeks notice (exactly because Conor chose Nate - who was out partying on a boat in Cabo - instead of Cowboy - who had just fought and took no damage or Khabib - who was training for a fight two weeks later)

COnor did fight Aldo and would have fought RDA, that is true. but that is ONLY because they held the belt.
You can see how fast Conor run from Frankie, Khabib and Tony.

I mean, you gotta be pretty fucking BLIND to not see the pattern.
COnor chases MONEY. He said that himself.

He does NOT want to fight any tough opponent unless he has something to gain (and almost NOTHING to lose). Like he did with Floyd, Mendes and Nate.

I don't mind him doing that, because he is looking up for himself, but you are too fucking stupid to not see it.

While you're right Woodley doing things wrong and Conor did them right.

Fighting Mendes for the title was big money fight for Conor then.
Fighting Aldo for undisputed title was bigger money fight and the highest promoted bout in ufc history.
Going after a champion v champion fight is definitely chasing bigger money fights.
Going after Nate 2, after seeing his nate 1 pay is chasing a money fight.
And leaving the sport to box vs the biggest ppv draw in history IS 1000% chasing money fights it's like the definition of it.

You can’t tell any of us a fucking thing until he’s willing to defend against the top contender...why’s he not doing that? He did what he needed to getting the belt but now sits back and does nothing...fuck him

I really don't think he will be. Everyone shits on fighters from the past and nobody remembers how good they were, take Forrest for example: World champion, choked out shogun, TUF finale fight, always entertaining, yet in 2018 people just think he was a can.

People shit on GSP and Anderson despite how many title defences they had and how dominant they were, so what hope does Conor have in 10 years from now?

"Everyone" is not just people on here. Ali was mercilessly shit on by the hardcore community in his day, all fighters were, but history and rational thinking change it all. There is no one ion the relevant media that would say 1/100th the garbage that Shertards say, because they are the fringe.

Conor's rise is not unique. Plenty of other dominant fighters rose through the ranks, left a path of destruction, and captured gold. LOTS of fighters. The only difference is that everyone except Conor defended whether successfully or not.
One of the best ever? No. Until he defends, he's just another guy who became champ. There are many others and will be many more to come.
