Dana White net worth 461,107,327

Invented a sport? Freakin casuals, MMA was around before UFC. White popularized it on a mainstream level but at the price of low fighter pay and a mundane production. Pride got it right even before Dana shaved his head and became the tough guy mafioso he tries to portray.

Fighter pay went up when Zuffa bought the UFC. Not down.

Pride had a good thing going, but they foundered in the end. It also was an Asian product with a mainly Asian audience. The UFC is the org that made MMA a viable business in North America.

it really is crazy he keeps doing what he does with that kind of money. it stresses him out but he obviously loves the sport.

I'm fine with it. There are plenty of people out there that are smarter or more ambitious than me, or both. I don't resent guys like him. I'm sure if I followed him around for a week and saw the hours he puts in I'd be happy to go back to my quiet life.

Maybe for the top name fighters, but when you pay 10 k show money to lower tier fighters while taking away their sponsors thats hardly growing the sport.

Giving $10K to low tier fighters has most assuredly grown the sport. In fact, the sport was growing when they gave out less. It's still much more than what orgs like Bellator pay out even now.

In terms of taking away the sponsors, I agree with you that the Reebok deal was an error. I think it was the single largest UFC misstep of the last ten years.

lol his actual worth is half that because he's a degenerate gambler.

I hope not, that's pretty ridiculous, plus he still gets 20 million a year in salary. He's easily the most replaceable figure in MMA history, he just got lucky enough to be friends with billionaires who loved the sport and made the big decisions. I basically like Dana, but he's got only a modicum of business talent, brings nothing special to the table that Scott Coker or any number of people couldn't already do, and if anything his goofball rants and antics helped keep the sport out of NY and other places for many years. That and some of the pay offs for fighters are pretty egregious. I could see if the guy was worth like say 100 million and maybe got a 5 million dollar salary a year, but the rest is pretty gross. No wonder people in this country are so sick of elites, we fight for crumbs, while they game the system.

I think he's probably worth even more than that. He'd for sure be on 20mil+ a year as the UFC president. He made something like 350mil from the UFC sale alone. I'm sure he's invested his money well over the years. He's been banned from many casinos because he was winning so much (and you have to be winning HUGE to get banned).

He's a shady dude, but a smart dude, so I have no doubt he's probably laundered money and hidden it in overseas accounts so that his actual worth isn't transparent.

Please adopt me Uncle Dana. You won't even notice me.

I'm just gonna stay in my room and eat junk food while watching Fight Pass all day. I might have some of my sherbrahs over but we will be good. Call me

To be fair it does appear they created a dominant sustainable league in the UFC much like the NFL became the dominant league for football. That is why they got the vast bulk of the uplift in the equity value of their stock. Because it looks to be an enduring and dominant sports league.

And the UFC also has been at the forefront of pushing up fighter pa beyond any of the other orgs including Pride. Benefits, minimum pay and top pay are all better for the fighters.

And quite frankly as you look around the world now you can see an entire MMA industry. Gyms, coaches and even young fighters who have never had another job that is not MMA related. that is amazing considering a few years back even many top fighters had to have day jobs. And no org has been more instrumental to that world wide exposure and build out than the UFC.

Reading the above you probably will call me a UFC nut hugger or worse but I am not. I preferred Pride. But that does not mean I have to deny the reality of the UFC's role in the industry.

He deserves every penny. Probably more.

He put in with the fertitas to buy the UFC for 2 million and sold it for 4.2 billion. It was a fair play and they made it happen. Good for them.

I am quite positive Jon Jones fucked up their Reebok and beyond plan.

I am quite positive the UFC was pushing to bring a main stream big money sponsor in for each area of MMA and they planned and hoped to add many more after. GSP had blazed an early trail with big name sponsors and Brock followed and the UFC felt it was time. Reebok was the first but then only weeks after Jon Jones first blunder of many happened. And the sport that sponsors were always weary of was once again one to be weary of. And then Jones happened again and again and again. Wiping out all the corporate good will GSP and others had built and making the sport and its top athletes appear risky again.
