Should D's help R's to fix flawed Tax Bill?

The three things named in the OP sound like fixing errors made in drafting. They don't sound like they're going to hurt individuals. One is helping smaller silos. The other two are fixing loopholes that could be exploited by rich people/corporations.

I'm fine with that in theory, but excuse me for being skeptical of the GOP.

I've said earlier that the DEMs should ask for a bone on this. That's more than fair considering how the GOP has acted the last 9+ years.

As long as it's asking for a reasonable concession and not demanding something unrealistic that would effectively be the same as opposing, I'm fine with that.

I got hurt, waited a few eeeks to see if it got better, made an appt with a specialist the day after I called and got an mri the day after that. Reviewed with dr the following Monday and started rehab Wednesday. Do you have that?

Yes. My wife´s knee was totalled at an AC/DC koncert. We drove to the hospital at 11pm. Were seen immediately. Saw a specialist the next day. Had knee surgery 2 days later (with follow up surgeries later). Not a dime out of pocket and no insurance company to worry about. Well other than the 35k she got for the injury ofc.

Where is this again? Canada’s wait times do not reflect that and the va sure as duck doesn’t.

You guys are interesting. Your fucking taxes offend me just reading about them can’t imagine paying them. Schools are good though. People aren’t all the size of blimps

Taxes are high, but so are wages and the benefits our taxes bring us. We pay taxes. You pay for insurance and college funds.

We are regular middle class. Have 6 weeks paid vacation every year. Usually travel twice pr year. Have a nice house, a nice car etc. No worries about insurance should we get sick or need surgery etc.

A lot of middle class here have either a summer house, a boat or a house/apartment in the south (Spain). So it´s not like taxes are killing people.

My bracket there would be 60% if I’m reading your scales right. I don’t know how the rest of the bracket works. Your version of state and local for instance

My college was free and my health care is under 5% of my income. So having trouble with that last 30 some odd percent.

You bracket would not be 60%. At 100k a year you would have an effective tax rate after deductions around 33 to 35 and a fair part of that goes to your pension.

If you hit the highest brackets you are only paying the high % of money made over a certain amount, not of everything you have made.

I’m closer to 130. That’s still quite a jump though since I think I ended up around 20 with deductions I think. I’d have to see how it compared. That’s better than it looked going by your countries site though. The other taxes made it look like i could end up with a tax rate approaching 80% possibly (not knowing how the other taxes work so just taking he high end)

Maybe the secret to Republican aversion to taxation is partly found in people not understanding how marginal tax rates work.

The two parties should stop seeing each other as enemies.

I don't know about democrats and republicans but those on the political left and those on the right are certainly enemies. It is an unavoidable fact.

If you made 130 in Denmark you would be very well off. Nice house. Nice cars. Possibly a summer house in Greece or Spain.
Retirement would look great.
No worries about healthcare and you could send 4 kids through medical school easily.

But at 130 you should be doing very well in the US as well no? Stop slacking, buy the ticket, come visit and see for yourself.

I’m not moving for the same weather. Plus my cost of living here is very low. This is a great living.
