Is it like the in porno films, where your spotting some biznatch on a squat, next thing your groping her titties from behind and dry humping her through her yoga pants??

.....

I didn't think so but - the dudes that I personally have seen do it, firstly - they were basically doing pretty much fuck all, except, "okay let's go over here and do a few of these. Now let's go here and do a few of those".

I've seen some chicks coach guys, and the guys they're coaching are some limp dick phags, who were clearly thinking, "yeah - I'm a chronic masturbator, but look at this hot chick, all up on my shit! Yeah - who's cool now?".
Yeah dipshit - chicks will do that for money.

What I'm saying is, of course there's an aspect of anatomical understanding, nutrition etc, to coaching, but I truly get the feeling, a large part of it is basically - being confident in a gym, understanding exercises, and accompanying people with money to spend, who probably aren't that confident in a gym, and basically hand holding/spoon feeding them.

i.e. a lot of personal training, seems to be down to, effectively, ego, pride, confidence (or lack thereof).

Does that sound - preposterous?

Have I offended anyone with my overt observations?

I'm a PT so I can chime in on this one. Yes there are a lot of bad trainers out there. To be honest there are probably more bad ones than good ones but if you do land on a good one when in need they are very valuable esspecially if they have their niche sorted out.

I have experience with Oly lifting, powerlifting, rehabbing back injury and being a former fat ass turned aesthetic I have my experience with nutrition ( which is a grey area but meh). Sure, I didn't exactly go to school to learn this but I did spend thousands of dollars over the years for equipment, coaching, supplements. I have spent countless hours doing my own research, training with high level athletes, conversations online such as these, I go through my YouTube fitness subscriptions like it's my daily news and I'm pretty much up to date on every trend nutritional, training or otherwise and let's not forget trial and error. I have already produced athletes under my belt in both powerlifting and physique and helped people over come a lot of other nagging issues.

Not trying to to toot my own horn here but I'm a trainer people want to land on. The ones you don't want are the assholes that did a bicep curl and went to the gym on the weekends and got a somewhat decent physique with no real knowledge of how it occured. Those are the people that say "I should do this for a living" and end up stinking up the industry.

Hoped this helped

PS..if you really want to see how good a trainer is, a good gauge would be to see how they fair with an injured client. If they don't know shit they will be exposed very quickly. Granted trainers are not doctors by that doesn't excuse them from being ignorant on those issues and knowing what's contraindicated in certain scenarios.

Would you recommend any specific qualification to go with?

ACE?

ISSA?

How many clients do you take per week?
Do you do it full time?
Can you make a decent living off it?
Have you ever boned any chicks you were coaching?

One dude I know was doing it part time, and got so many clients, he quit his job and started doing it full time.

But he was/is a national power lifting champion - so I assume he knows his stuff there.

Also want these questions answered.

You train fat cows, then eat their vaginas

I was a trainer and think I was pretty good one. I only had sex with 1 client in my 3 years in the industry but we dated for 2 of those years. I did have a few women throw themselves at me. It was a great job where the benefits came outside of monetary compensation.

When you say rehab, do you mean acute rehab or post-rehab? Your own back or someone else's?

Post rehab on my own herniated disc. The physiotherapists I had at my disposal were absolute garbage so I took it into my own hands after spending a lot of time reading and watching material from Dr. Stu McGill.

I'm not a physiotherapist so I can't rehab other people but It can be handy hiring a trainer who has overcome back injury while continuing to train if you yourself have an injury.
