Cops arrest 2 black men for no reason in Starbucks

Being a place to just hang out is the starbucks business model though right? You can't expect to operate with that business model and maintain a strict table turnover rate.

From my Starbucks experience, I've never seen anyone just going there and sitting without ordering something. What this business model allows, is to have just a coffee and sit there for while, not not having nothing at all.

How long did they sat in there? if it was 10 min the cops acted fast but if it was 20 min I understand.

Sounds like the manager was a dickhead, but the cops just did their job.

I used to work at a popular local cafe, and we dealt with this shit all the time. If people came in and sat without buying anything, after a while, we'd ask them if they'd like a coffee or some food. If they said "no", we'd politely let them know that seating and wifi are generally reserved for customers. If they still refused to buy anything, we'd ask them to leave. In the rare cases during which people refused to leave, we'd call the police, who would escort the person out of the building. No one ever said "no" when cops asked them to leave, so no one was arrested.

The guys who were arrested didn't do anything wrong, but at the point in which the manager asks them to leave, they should have. They're not martyrs, even if the manager was a dickhead.

Why are there so many sherdog posters going into places any not buying anything to use wifi and charge phones?

Are you literally homeless? Creepers up in here.

It's called having a life and traveling and getting out of the house.

That being said, if someone asked me to purchase something or leave, I wouldn't be offended. Maybe if they did it with a bitchy tone. I'd still either purchase something or leave, though. I get it.

Lol... no. Whites aren't they biggest beneficiaries of AA.. and it's not even close. You just parroting what you've heard others say.

Talk to union members on the black privilege that blacks get with their job.

Not to mention the racism whites face when enrolling in a college or applying for scholarships
LOL. White women are the largest demographic in the US. There are more women than men. There are more whites than any other group by far. White women are eligible for affirmative action. It's simple mathematics that they would be the largest beneficiary. And there is empirical evidence backing that up. Oops, looks like you got caught talking out of your ass again.

Never been to a Starbucks, but I've certainly been to the sort of independent Cafes which they were supposedly trying to imitate and commercialise.
If you can't sit down and wait for a mate without being pestered to buy something or asked to move on, that's a fail. Admittedly most of your traditional cafes have outdoor seating and aren't crammed into airports, hospitals and service stations serving "coffee" flavoured slushies.

I don't believe that Starbucks wants people to go there, just to hangout and use their bathrooms. That is your generalized opinion.

I personally have never noticed someone there that had not ordered anything. I also don't go there much, or am creepy enough to ensure everyone has purchased something.

As someone who worked at a Subway for 4 years, I would ask people to leave if they weren't buying anything. I ain't going to clean someone's poorly aimed pissed off the toilet seat, who didn't buy anything.
Subway and Starbucks have completely different cultures and business models. What you did is appropriate for Subway, but not Starbucks. I've gone to Starbucks for meetings and not ordered anything until the others arrived. And not only am I not considered a nuisance at Starbucks, but they love me there, they give me free stuff and greet me by name.

FWIW, I have unlimited data and a portable phone charger. :)

Or it could be called being a vagrant with a weak bladder, depending on how you phrase it.

That is what I am saying, do these people not have a home, an office, a car charger, among other things?

In my car, I have a charger, my work phone turns into a mobile hotspot, and if for some reason I was in the middle of nowhere, I keep a 30 dollar solar panel USB charger in my trunk, along with my emergency roadside car kit.

It is 2018 folks. Unless you are poor to a destitute degree, get some accessories, ya bums.

I picture the manager as Michael Bolton in Office Space, covertly locking his doors as a black walks by.
I see him deadbolting himself in his office, desk pushed to the door, as he peers through the blinds, quietly speaking to 911 as to not be heard, perspiration glistening on his pasty white skin, other hand on a fire extinguisher.

When you are flying and traveling across the country you pretty much only have your hotel room and any other available place.

I can tell you don't travel a whole lot.
