Jared Leto’s incarnation of Batman villain The Joker, seen in 2016’s Suicide Squad, may be getting his own solo movie. Warner Bros. is in the early stages of developing with Leto a standalone movie project and is currently out to writers for a take, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Leto would star and exec produce the solo movie that is set in the Suicide Squad universe.

Squad was directed by David Ayer and featured an array of DC villains as anti-heroes. The movie, which grossed $746 million worldwide, starred Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Leto, among others.

This is the latest DC movie project being developed by Warners that is focusing on Joker and other villains. The studio is already developing a so-called Joker origins movie that would be directed by Todd Phillips that would potentially star Joaquin Phoenix.

At the same time, Warners is also developing several movies that would star or feature Harley Quinn, the character played by Robbie. One of those was a Joker/Quinn two-hander. Warner Bros. currently has three upcoming DC movies on the calendar — December's Aquaman, April 2019's Shazam! and November 2019's Wonder Woman 2.

Val Kilmer Returning as Iceman in Joseph Kosinski's TOP GUN: MAVERICK

Val Kilmer is returning to one of his most iconic roles. The actor will bring back skilled fighter pilot (and beach volleyball player) Iceman for Top Gun: Maverick, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Tom Cruise is also returning for the sequel to 1986's Top Gun, the film that launched the actor as a global star. In the original film, Iceman (real name: Tom Kazansky) was a rival to Maverick, uttering such classic lines as, "I don't like you because you're dangerous," before the pair eventually became friends after earning each other's grudging respect.

Cruise recently tweeted a photo announcing that production had begun on the Top Gun: Maverick. Oblivion director Joseph Kosinski will helm the sequel, which follows fighter pilots dealing with a world in which drone technology is making their old style of flying obsolete.

Jerry Bruckheimer, producer Tony Scott-directed original, is producing Maverick with Cruise as well as Skydance's David Ellison. German composer Harold Faltermeyer, who created Top Gun's memorable synth score, is also returning to the production. The project has long been rumored, and Kilmer teased in 2015 that he had been offerred a role in the film shared his excitement, writing on Facebook that it's "not often you get to say 'yes' without reading the script."

Paramount is releasing Top Gun: Maverick on July 12, 2019.

Kilmer is known for Top Gun, as well as Batman Forever, Heat, Tombstone and other hits. Upcoming projects include the Iranian-American comedy 1st Born.

"We're going to reboot Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl," Vaughn said. "Look what Mark Millar is doing with the comics for clues."

When it comes to the Kingsman, Vaughn has already directed two films in that franchise, and he's looking to expand it into its own universe.

The third film in the main story that follows Eggsy and Harry Hart has been in the works for some time, but Vaughn announced that a spin-off movie titled Kingsman: The Great Game, which explores the spy organization in the early 1900s, is also being produced. Those two films will be shooting back to back.

Nice to see Noah Hawley transitioning into directing movies, and he's taking Dan Stevens along for the ride.

Pacino in a Tarantino flick? Just take my money.

Live-action Dumbo huh? How superfluous. I bet they won't keep the crows in the movie.

And I don't want to sound tone deaf or insensitive, but as a kid I thought they were part of one of the most entertaining and lively segments of that film. That song was catchy as hell.

To be honest it doesn’t even look like Tim the mouse is in this which is pretty crazy cause he was an absolutely core part of the film.
