Bernie Sander refuses to endorse his own son because he doesn't believe in dynastic politics

I didn't know a Michelle Obama or Ivanka Trump candidacy was popular? Where are you getting these statistics that suggest that they would be?

Lots of liberals are in love with Michelle....Lots of right wingers are in love with Ivanka.

The Mainstream media, has already mention both of them when discussing future women candidates....and tbh, they could probably win, just because of the last name alone.

Like I said, I don't like this....I don't like this family worship that the American people do.

Wouldn't arbitrary be supporting any dynasty while you're talking about the fact that one of the biggest problems with modern American politics is dynasties that, by definition, violate the principles of a nation ruled by the people?

Incompetent leaders are a bigger problem than political dynasties. I'm not going to vote for some incompetent nincompoop just because the highly qualified alternative happens to be the son of a successful politician.

"“Levi has spent his life in service to low income and working families, and I am very proud of all that he has done,” Sanders told the Boston Globe. “In our family, however, we do not believe in dynastic politics. Levi is running his own campaign in his own way.”"

Probably the best non-endorsement you can give. If anything, this could help Levi with the non-establishment types. Bernie basically endorsed him without saying the words, but then turned the conversation against dynastic families and nepotism. Smart move. The article makes it sound much worse than it was, though.

His son is an idiot that says stupid things online like getting rid of Confederate flag license plates infringes on people's rights. So it's more like Bernie doesn't want to be associated with his idiot son.

What principles? He took money from the Democrats to shut up and go away when they screwed him to get Hilary the Nomination. Took that money and bought his 3rd Mansion and has been their little bitchboy ever since. Little scumbag has no principles.

What money did he take? Oh, you are one of those fucking retards who thinks Bernie is rich and didnt actually inherit that house from his wifes parents who passed away. Or realize that Bernie is one of if not the least wealthy politician in the senate.

Who are these people? I haven't heard anyone call for either of them to run.

Do you think that either of them wouldn't automatically adopt the stigmas associated with their family members? I imagine they would, and they would each bring their own issues, given that neither of them has ever held public office nor led any major organization/company before. It seems unlikely they would have support to me.

I agree that family worship is bad. I am all for getting everyone with the last names Clinton and Bush out of public office. I just think Michelle and Ivanka are bad examples. Jeb Bush is obviously a good one, although he was probably more pragmatic than his brother was.

I don't know anything about Bernie's girlfriend's son or his politics, and I doubt that I'd be a fan of his. But for the sake of argument, suppose Bernie Jr. is objectively better suited to a career in Socialist politics than is Bernie himself. Why shouldn't Bernie support his own son in that situation? Isn't blanket opposition to "dynasties" a little... well... arbitrary?

Which segues into another point on this topic. By all accounts his son is running an embarrassingly inept campaign with people questioning why he’s even bothering. Bernie may couch his non-endorsement in platitudes about dynastic politics but, for all intents and purposes, his kid is essentially unendorseable

And I suspect that's probably the only reason for the snub. Bernie should just be honest about it. I'd respect Bernie more if he just admitted "Moy kid is a retaad, so no endwoarsement."

His net worth is more than double Scott Pruitt's, who the left considers the most corrupt guy ever. Bernie's got plenty of money, and that's his 3rd house. His wife gave herself over $200,000 severance after bankrupting a college when she got loans based on false information about how much money was coming in.

Who on the right has said Ivanka Trump should run for president? She's a democrat.

Bernie is super creepy. Won’t endorse his son yet will endorse Hillary and her literal dynasty of corruption and war mongering

It really shows you how Marxism, communism, socialism and the combination or these ideologies turns people into anti family weirdos.

As though supporting your offspring is a bad thing.

3 billion years of evolution called..

Scott Pruitt was co owner of a minor league base ball team that sold for over 20 million dollars. He is richer than Bernie by far. The Sanders sold the house they inherited to buy thier 2nd house. They only own 2. Both houses combined are worth less than 1 million. The reason for owning two houses is because they live in Vermont, but as a Senator Bernie has to be in D.C. often. The fact that they can afford these houses is not surprising. A man making what Bernie has strictly as a Governor and then Senator for several years could afford tyat as well. Especially when his wife works as well. He also made decent money off of a book he wrote. They dont even have a net worth to be considered wealthy though. His wife didnt give herself shit. Lmao. She was let go for unknown reasons and the board of directors for the college agreed to give her that severence. The whole investigation was started by a Republican that has been feuding with Bernie for years and is based off of heresay from a third party that had nothing to do with the actual loan.

All likely bullshit. But hey, where was yoyr outrage over the 3 cases of fraud brought up against Trump? How about Trump University?

"Among the most well-known Trump legal cases was the Trump University litigation. Three legal actions were brought alleging fraud, one by the New York State Attorney General and the others by class actionplaintiffs.[8] In November 2016, Trump agreed to pay $25 million to settle the litigation.[7]"

And he paid 25 million to settle. Sounds like he was actually guilty there. Why else would he pay out 25 million?

Uh, for the same reason people accept plea bargains. Even if you aren't guilty, you'd rather take a lesser punishment than risk a much greater one. They sued because they didn't get rich after some real estate seminars but still wanted easy money. The plaintiffs

Bernie's net worth is $800,000, Pruitt's is less that $400,000. So you consider the college going bankrupt and shutting down "unknown reasons"? Kind of difficult to maintain presidency of a college that doesn't exist anymore.

Hey, democrats did nothing wrong. Been over this time and time again with left sided posters on this forum

Maybe I'm lost, but how does that not infringe on a person's rights?
