If you re-watch the fight, you can see even in the 2nd round he's clearly favoring that right hand. That's when he starts throwing those right elbows. Up until that point, Whittaker was controlling the fight, and he'd already swelled up Yoel's right eye. If Whittaker hadn't broken his hand, he would have TKO'd Romero for sure.

Whittaker should count himself lucky they wear gloves or he'd have broke both hands on Yoel's literally iron chin. He's lucky there's rules against killing your opponent. Because Yoel would have literally killed him.

Wrong.

Yoel is too nice to kill anybody.

You take any fighters dominant hand out of the game, they almost certainly lose.

Amazing he managed to win debatable decision or not.

Thats twice now against Romero... dont think people realise how good he is (whittaker)

Yoel always starts slow and explodes once his opponents slow down and he can catch them. Very little would have changed.

Losing your lead hand tends to be a bigger deal, actually (that's always been the conventional wisdom in boxing). Especially for a guy like Whittaker who has a good jab and whose money punch is his left hook.

Actually it would have favored Yoel cuz Whitaker would have been more aggressive and therefore more open to getting countered and ktfo

Title should be :Yoel Romero is incredibly genetically lucky to be built like an iron golem.

Yoel has failed to stop Whitaker twice, when refs can stop a fight.

He isn’t killing shit

Yoel had all the opportunity in the world to render Rob unconscious and was unable to do that, let alone kill him. The fuck are you talking about?

And just wow to people acting like Whittaker fighting off that tank with one fucking hand isn't a big deal. This place is fucked.

If he could kill him, then why didn't he just finish him instead of leaving it in the hands of the judges?

Third fight - "Romero is lucky Whittaker broke his shin"

Fourth fight - "Romero is lucky Whittaker broke his wrist"

some people are brittle.

Whitaker was able to pull off two victories against probably the most violent man on the planet.
But let's not do the "He's lucky game"
Yomero is the reason things are getting broken or hyper extended.

" Whittaker broke his hand. " . The phrase " he broke his hand " sounds like someone smashed their own hand with a hammer .. Whittaker would not have * broken his hand * if he wasnt fighting Yoel . Yoel broke Whittakers hand .

I didn't actually read any of this, but I agree with the thread title

EDIT: "Yoel Romero is incredibly lucky that Whitaker broke his hand." = thread title, incase that gets fucked with
