Besides Lebron? Looks like the LA Lakers are going to be a one man team..

I looked up Isaiah Thomas’s stats, he only made 15 PPG on average last year..

They have good young players with potential, but the NBA is a man's league.

Yeah the lakers are trash, that’s why Vegas has them at 7-2 odds to win the championship. But why listen to a business that makes billions off of this shit every year when we can listen to some random cans on an mma forum tell us how bad they suck.

kuzma and ingram both have all-star potential. Lonzo ball is still a mystery at 20 years of age. Randle was a 16-8 beast down low. Caldwell pope is asolid wing who excels on defense. Isaiah thomas wasnt even good enough to start for them so not sure why you are bringing him up unless literally the only think you think matters is getting 20ppg.

LonzGOAT Ball is going to flourish under LeBron.

It's going to be beautiful to watch the beautiful game again regularly.

your comment makes zero sense. vegas does not put up odds based on who is the best team. not even close. they put the odds on who people will BET on. if the public was all betting on New Orleans to win, they would be the favorite. it doesnt matter how good or bad they are. the only thing vegas is doing is putting odds at a point where they will make money. so the odds they have are based on what the public thinks, not reality.

as for them having good players, lebron is going to stunt the growth of any players next to him. you need to either be a solid role player or a very good, established all star to flourish alongside him. he doesnt make other players better. he never has

They release those odds way before people are already betting on them. The odds change as people bet yes, but their initial line isn’t based on what people are betting on because nobody has bet yet. Hence why lines also adjust right when players leave/sign/get injured at game time, well before “the public” ever gets a chance to place their bets.

yes they release the odds before bets, with their perception of where the public will be. and they adjust if they were right or wrong accordingly. its why you can never get fair odds on teams like the yankees or lakers, cubs, etc because the public loves them and will bet them whether they are a good bet or not. whatever the lakers odds "should" be are not going to reflect what they are actually posted at at any time during this. they will always be shorter because the lakers are the ultimate public team

If they can get Kawhi they might be on to something. As it stands, they're good enough for the #3 or 4 seed in the West and a conference semifinals exit. Tops.

if they re-sign Julius Randle he is easily one of the best PF's in the league imo, Brandon Ingram is progressing well. Not to mention having Kuzma, Lonzo and Josh Hart.

They aint world beaters, but the are all effective and work their asses off

Ingram and Kuzma only averaged 16 ppg.
off the bench most of the season for Kuzma though, plus Ingram handles a lot of the distribution also so his scoring isnt all he brings

Lonzo is not a mystery, if his shot starts to fall he is a complete player.

They got a lot of good talent but they are super young, they just need a good leader and coach to put it together

Vegas isnt based off the likely odds its based off the betting odds, numbnuts. Its like how McGregor should have been 2000 to 1 vs Mayweather but a bunch of white people bet hard on him so the odds were stupid. Vegas knew that and opened at 25 to 1 and they went way down. Not because Vegas is stupid enough to think McGregor had a 1 in 25 chance but because they knew people are stupid enough to think so.

Lakers have tons of fans. So does LeBron. Vegas knows idiots like you will bet on it.

(its all good tho, you know i still love you)

It’s based off of both you can. Your argument makes no sense. If Vegas knew that people would bet on the lakers or mcfeggor then why not open up with a 2000-1 line so they get even more bets? If anything they’re costing themselves money by opening with such good odds. If the lakers started at a 20-1 odds instead of 7-2 they’d get way more money. Unless they want to lose themselves money then there’s no reason to open up with a line close to what the public will determine. Opening lines are determined by what they think the actual odds are of the outcome via actual oddsmakers and a computer formula. It adjusts based on the public bets from there.
