How long does it take to get the confirmation mail when registering?

A friend says he tried signing up here under 2 different email addresses like 2 days ago and still hasn't gotten any confirmation mail. Does it take that long normally?

That's normal, it can take anywhere from 1 - 5 days usually, it depends on how large the queue is. We tend to have more after a major event.
