Ocasio-Cortez Wins Another Primary… as a Write-In Candidate… in a District She Wasn’t Running In

He shoulda never used the S word. But I do agree with those positions

Well the thing is that is the word for those positions and its not such a bad word taken in the extremely moderate sense that Bernie means it. We need a mix of free market capitalism, competition and the chance to get fucking rich alongside basic protections for human dignity at the bottom end.

I happen to know some very wealthy people and the thing is they never rest, its never enough, they work and work and work and for the most part they are not very happy. I personally have concluded that this more than anything is WHY they want to pay the lowest people like shit. I think it burns them up to see someone put in 40 hours a week at a decent job and be able to enjoy life more than they can.... I really think this is a BIG part of the motivation. Misery loves company.

This is the only one I'm linking for you. If you are curious issue by issue look it all up man. I am simply too lazy.

Cherry-picking a pick? This is likely his most popular position, where he has 58% support, according to the poll (without getting into the problems associated with polling). I would be surprised if he had his other central positions were as possible, such as "breaking up the banks." If you can prove me wrong, please do.

Because to be a socialist unlike a republican or a democrat there are very rigid beliefs you have to hold

What we need to do in america to help keep things honest is stop using the words communist , socialist , nazi and fascist as everyone seems to mean something different when they say them

Agreed actually. Issue by issue is all we ought to talk about. Even between the dems and rep there is no one who is relay happy because of wedge issues. We need more opportunities to vote directly on wedge issues.

You are more lazy than me man. I like you. What do you suppose the polls will say about 15 minimum wage? or getting money out of politics?

So I definitely agree with using the terms rarely. You're 100% spot on there. I just also believe the man when he tells me that he's a socialist unless he really doesn't know anything about politics (which would be weird since he's a professional politician).

Rigidity is not a requirement, however. The Communists proved this by the many forms it took. Chinese Communism was very different than Cambodian Communism, and both were different than Russian Communism (in its several forms, as some will call it Stalinism and Leninism, respectively). The rigidity of socialism appears to be a bitter broader than you're perhaps giving it credit for.

I don’t think the majority of people want to abolish ICE. Even if they did, it won’t ever happen.

I do, but its further away from the order of operations for depts. I want to abolish.

I don't know what the polls will say. I haven't seen them. I would bet that the former question will largely depend on the sample ($15/hr will likely be more popular in more liberal cities like Seattle and San Fransisco that also have very high costs of living versus more conservative places with low costs of living), while the latter will be more linked to how it is worded than anything else. "Getting money out of politics" is a really abstract idea, and how you choose to narrow it down will likely determine the outcome of the poll.

@Gutter Chris I also agree, that we should be using terms for institutions and actions as precisely what they are. That is, we call taxation theft (extortion is acceptable as well), and call gov't precisely what it is also. A compulsory funded monopoly.

I don't think that all taxation is theft. I just think we should move more towards a New Zealand model versus a European one in terms of heavy regulation on industries.

I want to take a momemt to say this to all of you.

We dont all agree on many things and that is OK. I hope we all can have genuine goodwill towards one another. More than anything the rising resentment in our country is what worries me.

If all of you who disagree with me get your way I want you to know that privately and publicly I wish you all the very best in life, for you and for your families.

taxes arent theft and are constitutional and legal

They are more like dues than stealing you know cuz nothing on earth is free cept your mamas love

also I have already told you that there are things im ok with guys with guns enforcing upon you just that there should be as few of those things as possible

Of course it is, you just want to justify it from a consequentialist angle, which I accept could be valid given argument.... but its still theft.

Agreed. Good will to you and your family, as well.

I would agree with @Gutter Chris that they are more like dues than they are things that are stolen from you. I like low taxes, but I don't expect to have no taxes at all while still being able to drive on roads, have a common defense, have essential public services like a fire department, and the sort. The idea is that we should simply maximize human freedom and reduce financial burdens on individuals as a means of extending their freedom.

Dues, like a country club dues? Which you can opt in to pay and opt out of voluntarily, along with other competing options, and no compulsory monopoly forcefully crowding out competitors?

To the services you brought up, does most everyone want those things?

I didnt ascend past highschool homie

That recognition is outside of how far along you got in a gov't indoctrination center, friend. In fact, I'd wager you're more intelligent and wise for having not subjected yourself fully to that institution.

Well, you don't have to play at this course. There are other places that you could conceivably play at that don't charge dues, but they tend to be failed states.

I don't have any data to back that up, but I would assume that most people are in favor of roads, a standing military, and fire departments that they can call without first needing to provide some kind of insurance number or pay a service fee when everything they own is ablaze. I could be wrong, but I would be surprised if I was.
