Movies FURIOSA: A MAD MAX SAGA ($26.3 Million Opening Weekend; Dragonlord's Review)

Though most of the 90's as well you had a schedule were films would get a cinema release and then around 6 months latter you would get specialist cable and inflight plane releases then VHS would come out another 6 months latter or so.

Does a brand new Dodge Charger impress you?

"Like a Beaver with Diphtheria" is the best description I'v heard.

49-46 Costa is one of the worst judges calls I've ever seen

Politics wise though Costa plays to the right wing bro market just as much as Sean.

    Is Stipe overrated?

Arlovski's run at that point though was KOing a post TRT/Brain Op Bigfoot who had dropped off of a cliff, winning terrible non event decisions vs Mir and Big Brown plus a crazy life and death brawl with Travis. I don't think he looked anything close to as good as his mid/late 00's run.. I...

Movies FURIOSA: A MAD MAX SAGA ($26.3 Million Opening Weekend; Dragonlord's Review)

I'd need to watch it again(maybe several times) to form more of a final opinion but I would say for me it felt a bit more uneven than Fury Road but still very worthwhile. I would agree with your point that a lot of modern franchises tend to depend too much on over explaining their "lore" because...

International Hamas launches surprise attack on Israel; Israel has declared a state of war. Vol. VII

Does I think highlight how propaganda has shifted in recent decades, away from mere deference to authority and towards playing to peoples egos telling how how smart they are for echoing the states viewpoint. Really though I don't think the crazier right wingers here are the biggest issue, the...

Movies FURIOSA: A MAD MAX SAGA ($26.3 Million Opening Weekend; Dragonlord's Review)

To be fair though I think this film did also know what NOT to overdo, we did not get much more about Immortan Joe and the Warboys for example or the backgrounds of the Bullet Farmer and the People Eater, characters and situations which I think had been covered enough in Fury Road. We got to...

Who will you be rooting for to win, Dustin Poirier or Islam Makhachev?

Like both so no real preference, maybe slightly more Dustin as its probably his last chance at the belt.

Bas Rutten in UFC.. Rutten vs Randleman

It depends a bit when your talking about I spose, I think Werdum by 2005 was a pretty good boxer working with Mirko, he didnt have the threat of the knees he developed at Chute Boxe but I suspect he would still be out enough to out point Mark standing. If it was someone like Gonzaga he was...

Bas Rutten in UFC.. Rutten vs Randleman

Just had those fights happened sometime around 2001-05 depending on the opponent of course. Werdum you could argue I spose his striking was as dangerous at that point but I think he was still a good enough boxer to get the best of Coleman standing and on the ground the Nog fight suggests that...

Bas Rutten in UFC.. Rutten vs Randleman

I do think its an interesting consideration how Coleman might have done vs other HW's, Werdum I don't think would good for him but Sylvia, Arlovski, Sergei, Aleks, Herring, Randy, Mir and especially Hunt and Semmy I feel he could have been competitive against.

Bas Rutten in UFC.. Rutten vs Randleman

Yeah I do think that fight is a sign he was starting to advance, started to drop some of the muscle and work a slower game conserving more cardio, did still gas somewhat but I think clearly deserved the decision here as Rizzo did very little standing. The Takada fight I think is acknowledged...

Movies FURIOSA: A MAD MAX SAGA ($26.3 Million Opening Weekend; Dragonlord's Review)

I do think something like ID4 is clearly a tackier peice of cinema than what were talking about though, not without its charms I spose but still not great and really has nothing to say but jingoistic fist pumping. I would say Fury Road has a decent amount of depth to it though, to me it feels...

Movies FURIOSA: A MAD MAX SAGA ($26.3 Million Opening Weekend; Dragonlord's Review)

Seems you have a bit of snootiness about Saving Private Ryan, personally I think thats a highly pretentious film looking to style itself some peice of important art when really its an action shmaltz fest.

    Dune 2 is terrible.

I don't think it was just her character but rather the group of Fremen she was with all behaved like modern American young adults, for a film which tried so far to sell its concept seriously than undermined it quite a bit.

Bas Rutten in UFC.. Rutten vs Randleman

Really I feel the main issue Coleman had at that stage was cardio, dropping some muscle and learning to not go so hard with GnP and he was still close to the top. I don't think the "era of wrestlers" really ended until Nog beat Coleman and Herring beat Kerr and Erikson a couple of years latter.

    Is UFC "wrestling" just takedowns?

I think vs Tibau he struggled mostly due to the cage, at that stage he was mostly focused on single legs and the cage allowed for much stronger defence than the ring does, after that match he switched much more to using bodylocks. Things switched the other way then and he ended up exploiting...
