    WMMA Discussion #29

Yeah, haven't watched Bellator in forever but I caught that fight. Seemed like her gameplan was to rely on grappling and try to get a takedown but Cyborg was pretty much able to shrug her off and get the GnP finish pretty quickly. Seemed like there might have been beef between them, but I hadn't...

PBP ONE Fight Night 14: Stamp vs. Ham, Fri. 9/29, 8 PM ET/5 PM PT PBP Discussion Thread

Yeah, I haven't watched ONE in a minute but this pacing is really bad.

Yeah, that 10-8 for the 5th rd was absurd. It was a great back and forth fight between the two, with one mistake leading to an advantage for the other fighter. Felt Val stepped up her activity and was doing good work with the jab and landing takedowns. Grasso had some nice power moments with her...

The Barber/Ribas fight turned bloody quickly. I like Ribas, but she needs to work on her striking defense to be really effective. She's tough, but once Barber landed a few of those head kicks.... Funny part of the fight was hearing Dominik tell DC how effective the head and arm throw is for...

    WMMA Discussion #28

Yeah, Aldana had nothing for Nunes pretty much the entire fight. Seems like she was really focused on defense and never got her offense going. Amanda has had a hell of a career and is the women's GOAT imo. I wonder if Valentina is able to beat Grasso in the rematch, if she jumps back up to 135...

Yeah, crazy outcome. I didn't expect Grasso to win, let alone choke out the champ. She was doing pretty good on the feet as well, even with Valentina winning up until the mistake that Grasso was able to capitalize on. I guess no women's fighter currently has an invincible aura now, although...

Good to see her get paid. Always exciting https://www.mmafighting.com/2023/2/15/23599807/jessica-andrade-signs-new-contract-ufc-vegas-69-main-event-mma

Caught the Hill/Ducote fight. Really good performance from Angela, came out aggressive with a lot of strikes. Especially in the Muy Thai clinch with knees and elbows over the top. Ducote never really seemed to get going.

Think that was my 1st time seeing Erin fight, pretty impressive. Esparza/Zhang was fun while it lasted. Good to see Carla have some moments in the fight, on the feet and during scrambles. Not sure who is next, Andrade or Lemos for a title shot.

Caught the women's fight on the main card. Think that was my first time seeing Fiorot fight, agreed I can't see her having anything for Valentina. Cool seeing Joanna in the crowd, still my favorite women's champ the UFC has had.

Got off work right in time to catch the main event Friday night. Hadn't seen her fight before, but she seemed fired up in the post-fight interview. I thought she would put Lee away in the 1st when she dropped her, but Lee was able to battle back. Nan did seem to have the more powerful strikes...

Up-kick liver shot stoppage, never seen that before in MMA. Kudos to Aldana Had to see the replay, because it didn't seem that bad at first. But I guess with the right placement, the body shuts down. Fun fight before that with a lot of scrambles, Aldana might want to work on her TD defense for...

Lots of love for Penne, but that was a great gameplan by Ducote by her UFC debut. Didn't realize her striking was that sharp. Nice bounce back win for Murphy, Miesha's face looked bad and all kinds of busted up. Not sure what Valentina does next, maybe a jump back up to 135 to face the winner...

Yeah, I dislike Zhang getting quick title rematches (because China), but with performances like last night it's hard to be too mad. Like the aerial flip after the fight, even if she didn't nail it super clean. Interested how her fight with Carla goes, as Carla does have good wrestling and maybe...

Ribas didn't look bad at 125. She kept a constant pressure, but the length of Chookagian helped her land the more effective strikes on the feet. Ribas still needs to work on her striking defense, the head and arm throw she landed 2X was nice though. Other 2 women's fight went to the fighter...
