Yeah I agree and it's why I prefer glitchless runs. Going OB, flying around the map and skipping most of the game... while being technically skillful, it just isn't very entertaining.
Been playing a lot of Doom 2016 lately. Such an awesome game and so addictive.
Just finished a pistol only run on UV and now I'm trying it again on nightmare. Some of the arenas are brutal but overall it's not as bad as expected and it really forces you to learn how to fight each enemy...
Better is obviously subjective but Japanese animation kicks North American ass hands down. Not only in the female beauty department but with regards to basic physiology. NA devs just cannot do third person combat very well. It always looks goofy and uncoordinated.
I'm replaying Doom 2016 ATM and, while I like the gunplay in Eternal more, I hope the next installment is more new Doom instead of old Doom and its goofiness. Not that I dislike silly fun but a serious atmosphere is more immersive.
Id Software's next game. It hasn't been announced yet but will likely be a new Doom or Quake, or maybe Hexen. Year Zero is the code name that was leaked in the Microsoft court case with the FTC.
I read the IGN article this morning and thought some here might like it. A one man studio made this in Unreal Engine and there is a playtest in a few days, March 8. It also has a Steam page now.
The article describes it as "Imagine DOOM, Diablo, and Neon White having a baby at a goth rave...
I wonder if Sony will ever go after theirs. I use RPCS3 for the OG Demon Souls and PS4 emulation might be my only hope for Bloodborne 60fps so those mfers better not.
I'm probably overreacting. Although the way this game has exploded in popularity makes me nervous ngl. I don't want to see them sell out to appease their shareholders and other corporate overlords, especially given the state of the gaming industry atm. It's inevitable that the bigger Fromsoft...
Yeah that would be cool. It would also mean Fromsoft doesn't have to design enemy and boss moves that are challenging to overleveled characters... because they sometimes can be unfair. I'm thinking of status effects and attacks that can't be avoided that just destroy you at low levels. In...
I wouldn't mind that. Maybe I'm just misreading their intent but it sounds like another way to strengthen your character besides the normal leveling system.
I hope they're not trying to please too many people. It kind of sounds like an extra crutch for all the new players who aren't prepared for Fromsoft's usual DLC spike in difficulty, which would be a shame because it's a rite of passage.
