In the past the audience has booed some questionable BJJ and interview question/statements, and a couple GA students have been on the receiving end. I think this is a way to control unpopular opinion.
Hey y'all! This will likely be my last seminar before I start residency, and it's something that hits close to my heart. This seminar will have all proceeds benefit "Ellie's Army," a non-profit organization dedicated to helping families with children suffering from SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy)...
Worse than that is that most people couldn't tell you that Lana Stephanac was the first American female World Champ at brown/black, and she double golded with weight/absolute. And beat Gabi something like 14-0 and 16-0 their two matches that year.
Yeah, it would be a leap for me to call Daddis sexist because one of their six or so instructors there treated me sketchy (after one was very kind). It just could have been interpreted that way in my frustration. But as someone who works in a gym, we ask everyone new there if they need help...
The Jake guy was super nice and did ask my level, he just had to teach. And I want to clarify that I don't expect anyone to recognize me (I'm a nobody as of three years), it's just common courtesy to ask before tossing a schedule at someone.
We didn't ask either to attend. We imagined they're busy with their daughter and don't need any further reminder of their loss.
Trouble posting pic from app...someone help?

Daddis was...odd. Guy named Jake was nice and helped me, but asked me to wait to talk to another staff member as he was teaching class. Completely reasonable. Then sat for 15 minutes as staff members helped four dudes who showed up after me while straight up ignoring me. I had to finally ask...
I remember you Josh, don't need the description, haha! He's 1.6 miles according to google maps, so I'll send him your way to check it out. Thanks again!
Yeah he's heard great things about Balance but it's apparently a trek, and in big cities for someone with a career it can be not particularly feasible.
Hey dudes, looking for a gym for one of my best friends in South Philadelphia. He works a ton and isn't looking to be a big competitor, so a chill school with good access is preferred. We both don't like overly formal schools (only wear X gi in X color), so that's a smaller preference. I...
I wish I had a pic to post already, but I'm so absolutely blown away by the response that we had. At the beginning of the seminar, as Marc ran warmups, I stopped counting at 50 as more folks trickled in.
Emily started the seminar with a deep half sweep to a very secure pass to mount, using...
