I’m simply responding to the notion that a black belt has no different standards than a blue belt. I disagree. They are held to a higher standard and that might be what is causing the delay in the op’s progression since he feels he is there technically.

Although blue belts are role models to lower belts, they don't represent the school in the same way a black belt does. Lower belts are more like customers of a business where a black belt is more like management with instructors being owners/uppermanagement. They represent it in a different way...
