For me, it was when ECW folded and Vince bought WCW. So, right around 2000.
I've tried to give the product a few tries in recent years, but I just haven't been able to get into modern wrestling.
If you're talking about the shirt Fedor's modeling on the bottom of the page, it basically says, "Russia Northern Landing Expedition."
Pretty late on the reply, I know.
I was actually at this event. My friend's dad took him, his sister, and me to MSG to see it. I can't believe it's been 34 years. This match in particular was kind of shit since it pretty much consisted of Warrior running out from the locker run in a coke-fueled sprint and just squashing Honky...
I'm not sure why no one's mentioned Jake Roberts yet. He was pretty gifted on the mic and cut believable promos.
Mean Gene let out a breath and remarked, "Longfellow couldn't have said it better" after he interviewed Jake before his match with Ted DiBiase at Wrestlemania 6, LOL.
EDIT: I guess I...
There's no apostrophe in Steiners, dude. That makes it possessive.
Anyway, I can't disagree with your rankings. The Road Warriors, while fun to watch work stiff sometimes, were hardly any sort of technical tag team.
1. Steiners
2. Harts
3. Road Warriors
Yeah, I mean, I seem to have voted the same way as everyone else. The only iteration of the Horsemen that really mattered to me were Arn, Ole, Tully, and Ric.
As a kid I was never able to see WCCW until ESPN picked it up. I watched it pretty much every day after school because it was wrestling and it was on, though.
I remember it as probably being the really late 80s or early 90s, because the Dingo Warrior was on TV quite a bit around that time.
Thing is, in a 7 minute or so fight Mir's total offense was limited to about, what? 12 seconds, literally?
Frank was bloody as soon as the fight hit the mat about 1/2 minute into round one, got absolutely pummeled for the remainder, and aside from his 10-second burst that came like a minute...
LOL. Dude who posted directly above you gave the stats for the fight... which you clearly don't remember as well as you think you do. That fight was the epitome of a one-sided beat down and left Mir deeply embarrassed.
Yeah, I had an original Nostromo when they were made by Belkin. I believe it was called the N52 Speedpad or something like that. I never really used it enough to get completely used to it and I remember thinking at the time that I just preferred using the tradition keyboard.
I wouldn't be...
I didn't like Roddy on the mic much, even as a kid. Even less when I realized what coke was because when I was really young I just though he was a spaz, haha.
Anyway, I went with Flair, Rock, Jake, and Randy. So, obviously everything's subjective.
I'm a little surprised to see so many JYD shout-outs. He was a fun character but he didn't show much in the WWF. He was so much better during his Big Daddy Ritter / territory days when he was younger and cared enough to stay in shape.
Anyway, I guess to answer TS' question I'd probably go with...
Sting is in his 60s and Taker's slower than molasses these days. I voted "don't care" but I'm actually sitting here considering changing it to a straight no.
I always come back to this one from time to time, and I always laugh at Tully pulling back his punch and waiting for JJ to get behind Magnum TA so he can catch him when he falls.
But yeah, I really like Dusty's Midnight Rider intro promo. I could have posted it by itself but watching the...
For me the answer is clearly Bret Hart. He was definitely the better worker in my opinion even if his mic work may have been dry.
Plus, he never embarrassed himself in the ring like Shawn did with Hogan.
