    i have done a reasonable number of mma sessions and it's pretty easy to know what to keep and what to discard... the major thing for me i sto aim to play top game, otherwise i essentially use my standard nogi game in mma

    r i am sure you would bro, the over/under and single under pass game is pretty tough to deal with in general IMO (especially the leg drag variations)... but i really try to not allow that position much as it is hard to beat once the guy is set up i tend to find, and obviously this is all...

    generally yeah, sure there are exceptions and of course i am not at world champion level, but those sorts of techniques are not seen much anymore in comp for a reason, they are less effective and they lose most of the time to the modern BJJ that replaced them

    yeah this is true, but the skill level is much higher IMO... all it takes is a few MMA classes/sparring sessions and you get a pretty clear idea of how to apply your BJJ in a fight

    i can only really speak from my experience and since i wasn't training 10 years ago i can't say how they were then... i will say though that i have very, very little trouble with old school guys, if guys don't update their BJJ i mean, if a guy is trying to pass on his knees, using old school...
