True, I can train in a rack and still go into competition just fine. But for a lot of begginers, it's a mental thing. Some of them get nervous without safeties and have a hard time trusting the spotters.

It's doable, you just need to make sure the spotter is strong enough and knows what they are doing.

Well some people don't have racks with safeties . Other people, like myself, compete in powerlifting so we train in an open rack with no safeties to get used to how it will be in competition.
