I like Whyte and he makes an interesting match up with a lot of guys but Fury is a bad fight for him. I feel like he loses and then a bunch of people say he sucks because of it even though he doesn't.

I don't know where to find the rules but I'm going off of how it works in boxing, and don't see why it should be different here. Corner stoppages happen regularly and aren't a strange occurrence. You're there for your fighter and if you think they shouldn't be fighting anymore then you stop it...

Corner stoppages are absolutely a thing. The ref can't run back and forth between the fighters between rounds and determine if they're okay. The corner is there to see the fighter through the fight but also put a stop to it if needed.

While the ref and doctor are also capable of stopping the fight it absolutely is still the job of the corner to stop it if it's necessary.

It's surprising to hear but the best of luck to him. I don't know his life but I'm assuming he's had a lot of time to think and feels done. I wouldn't be surprised to see him come back in a couple years though.
