How or why do some fighters become shot in a sudden way?

It is the same with every athlete. One bad knee or a bad toe, and your reaction time is never the same again, or a chronic headache that caused bad sleep the day before a fight makes you slower. BJ Penn has talked about struggeling with vertigo, headaches and seeing flashing lights. Suddenly the...

*** Bo Nickal Possibly BEST PROSPECT EVER Mega Thread ***

Izzy was very impressive at stopping wrestlers. And yes, I believe from what we have seen that he will do very well. Even vs a top 10 college wrestler that beat a couple of unknowns.

*** Bo Nickal Possibly BEST PROSPECT EVER Mega Thread ***

Nah. People make it sound like a good wrestler will win every fight... a college wrestler that beat three unknowns is supposed to compete with one of the best MWs of all time? Israel beat every MW wrestler he faced, and all of them had many more impressive fights than this guy. He is a terrible...

Has Khabib become underappreciated on this forum?

Khabib was really impressive, and had the potential to be one of the greatest fighters of all time. However, I think most fans start to see that he is a bit unproven. He was an amazing weightcutter, and was always Big and strong, but it would be interesting to see how he did vs some bigger guys...

So who is the greatest striker ever?

Why do some BJJ black belts get subbed as total noobs?

Mostly 3 reasons: - Some wrestlers cut so much weight and are so Big and strong that they can overpower smaller guys. You often see many of the top wrestlers struggle to make weight. - The gap between black belts is huge. Just like in all other martial arts black belts. - Fatigue

    Top 10 Heavyweights ever

Semmy is the grestest striker to ever live, and like with Cain, the potential was great. DC was very impressive that a guy that old, that had a physique of a dart player could compete in mma. He was Fun to Watch, and always went out in full speed, but to be honest, him beating Stipe was pretty...

Does JDS or Cain surpass Big Nog?

I rank JDS over Cain, just like I rank Hoost over Sapp. I think Nog beats both of them, and is obviously ranked much higher. JDS lacks the ground game, and their striking is pretty even. Cain would not have been able to stand with a prime Nog, and on the ground he probably will be submitted...

    Top 10 Heavyweights ever

I think both DC and Ngannou proved to little. Great fightere, but far from hw goats. DC tok the easy route and used hus amazing weight cutting ability to fight smaller guys to avoid the top HWs for a long time. Ngannou might be a top 10 later if he keeps on winning, but he has some holes. Semmy...

Did Usman got old or just Edwards just got lucky?

Nothing new in mma… The best fighter that night was Edwards. But in a rematch, Usman will be a clear favourite to win.

    Top 10 Heavyweights ever

Top 5 is pretty easy: 1. Fedor 2. Nog 3. Werdum 4. Stipe 5. JDS the other 5 is quite hard. I guess in no particular order, some of these 8 guys? Arlovski, Crocop, Mir, Semmy, Cain, Sylvia, Randy, Overeem…

Who had a more impressive first six fights in the UFC?

Stylistic, I think someone like Burns beats Khabib, and I dont really think he beat Tibau, so I would give it to Chimaev. However, Khabib obviously has a more impressive resume, and proved to be very dominant, so it is interesting to see how Chimaev does from now.

Nate Diaz is the King of moral victories

Dont blame Nate. Sometimes he is just fighting some pussy-anti-fighters. He is probably the most valuable fighter in the UFC right now.

GSP's take on fighting Usman and the level of competition today.

Obviosly, with more money and fame, the talentlevel will be deeper, and more guys will be interested in the sport. However, there are several things that says otherwise: - USADA. This is fighting, and you can say what you want, but if you do certain supplements, you will NEVER lose a a fight to...

Opinion : LHW has in fact been the greatest division in MMA

The model has changed. These days a few losses means that you suck or is done. In the higher weightclasses everyone will be caught and rocked sometimes, and everyone will get some losses. In the lower weightclasses a flash KO is not inevitable (like it is in LHW/HW), so it is easier for the UFC...

    Taking Izzy Down?

I dont see anyone now. Brunson and Romero Are great, but None of them could do Much. Jan was much bigger, probably 20 lbs, so as kong as Izzy stays at mw, very few can touch him.

Daniel Cormier still not over Jon Jones

Jesus. Imagine what would have hoppened if he fought a real, Big roider, when he is making excuses and crying about how hard it Was to fight skinny Jones. Coleman would rip him in half.

How does the result of Jones - Ngannou impact his legacy?

If he loses, it will not change anything. We should alwsys assume someone loses to a top guy in a higher weightclass. He will still be a top 5 goat. If he wins, he will pass GSP and go directly into the no 3 spot. Some can even argue he passes Anderson and goes directly into the no 2 spot.

I'm sorry, Jones is nowhere near the GOAT level

I love Jones, but I agree he is not top 3 goat. He will need to beat some guys a weightclass up to be considered top 3. if he beats a top HW, he vill pass GSP for the no 3 spot.

If Fighter Pay is So Poor, Why Do So Many Do it?

It is the same as in all other professions. Some guys put in the work and earn more, while the great majority complain about their low pay and shitty boss, and does nothing to change it.
