Awesome. There's 3 weight classes above 242. 275, 308 and SHW.
You can check out the meet at this url. Just go to nationwide meet list at the top and go to september 2012.

Hope that helps. The guy who is running this meet is...
Me too man. My first meet was the Sierra Nevada Cup last September. I did 1036 in the 242 weight class. If you want to do a meet, I'm doing the Sierra Nevada Cup @ 242 probably again.
They're great people and no one cares about your lifts. I failed 375 twice at that meet and everyone cheered...
I've always cleaned my presses. I feel out of place pressing in a rack. It doesn't feel right when I'm pressing. I actually feel stronger and more in position when I clean (note: clean badly) rather than do it out of a rack.
Now I've never run across into many gym idiots or paid much...
I'm back. Running through madcow's again. This time I'm finishing it. Had my previous two runs through madcow's interrupted for various reasons, work, fam, etc. This time it gets done.
I know the drill though.
I am. Didn't go anywhere in 2011 though. No real increases to contribute to the comp. Sucks but things came up. Have I missed anything else around here?
True but it wasn't just for you, the Jim Wendler statement. And was my statement intelligent because I agreed with you or because of the statement itself? Just wondering.
Also the only study I could come across that countered your statement only really pushed it up to 32 or so and only among...
I like that picture for BMI comparison. Although the whole argument going on here is more about whether BMI really does pinpoint where one should fall for a long life. I still want that there to clarify why BMI sucks as a tool.
Besides correlation does not always equal causation. Like tosa...
I agree with this. +1
Just move it to 2 days a week. If you want to see if you can handle 3 days a week for another week like you mentioned then fine. But if you cannot, think about doing it 2x a week instead.
Well I don't have the vids on my comp atm. My dad was the one recording it and its all on his laptop. he did make a dvd out of it but I can't get it to work on my computer atm.
however I will say the meet was fun but I was nervous as hell. I couldn't eat at all before I went and made myself...
Well this is my beard. It shall be trimmed along with a haircut though unfortunately. I have to trim it which makes me sad.
I did want to see if I could reach this point.. but alas. Another time.
Seems like you're doing good. Good luck with smolov and I'm sure you'll hut 170kg or so like you wanted. Smolov looks painful with all the volume but your squat will improve. Good to see you're handling it well so far.
That's the way I like doing it, admittedly I don't do much on OHP yet.
But the issue is hitting his ceiling. Unless you mean sitting down with it after cleaning it to do a seated press.
Although I do like uncookedpork idea of overhead rock lifting. Might not work for the OP but it does...
Bumping this for the team so they know I'm still around.
Also bumping to mention that I have a meet coming up this saturday and for the purposes of the squat/press comp, I am going for a 405 squat. Should be able to get it or very close. I'll upload vids when I get them.
