Good post Crimmy, I've been getting these for 20 years. Avoiding acidic(citrus, ketchup, tomatoes, spicy stuff, sweets, CHOCOLATE, Coffee etc) helps in them not forming but once I get them they often have to run their course which can take a week or two. I dont even necessarily need to be cut...

I would add that the one time I may use the elbows on inner knees is if I have put my knee under his arse and sat back, thereby for the most part breaking his guard already and just using the elbows for finishing touches.

Yes, yes I'm afraid so. J/K. Just train when you can, it's your journey, not somebody else's. Maybe get some mats and find a training partner from your gym to work with your schedule and get the extracurricular roll in here and there. Only training will help you improve, not internets.

thanks, I've been grappling for almost 5 years now with some time off. I've never had the $$$ for a vacation really so this would be a first. Just thinking with the loot i'd blow I could get a private a week for a year with one of the local blackbelts...curious to hear from people who've been...

Thinking of going to the bjj motherland for 10-14 days for some training immersion, probably twice a day, hopefully a couple privates as well. So, my question, is it worth it, considering the level of jiu jitsu available here in the states? Also, has anyone here done any of the bjj package style...

I can no longer advocate heel hooks(especially inverted). Damage occurs too suddenly and then pop! Thanks for the awnsers, I believe I've had my acl damaged by a large roided russian.....I know go see a doctor, just wanted to give it a day or two.

Havent been. Did he split with Joe Pomferet (sp?), if it's the same gym, I believe they're reputable. Are you associated with the taunton mma gym?

havent been there yet.. I believe it's family orientated. does Joe pomeferet (sp.) teach out of there as well still?
