But why should anyone have to cut to 265? This is a pretty silly argument, just make it open ended and move on with life. There isnt going to be many champions over 265 anyways.
Time and time again it is proven the best HWs are in the 220-250lb range. I see no issue with removing the 265 weight limit. Who gives a shit if there isnt much talent on the top end no one should have to cut to HW.
Yeah the hate is real on this one. The guy beat the number 2 ranked WW and just steamrolled a 10-15 ranked WW and apparently no one thinks he’s earned shit.
I get that he missed weight but Olivera has missed weight 5 fucking times and no one cares about that. I say give him one more fight at...
I think Nate was a little gassed and the kicks were taking their toll. He was playing to the crowd but really taking a break. Fortunately for Nate, Tony was also starting to gas out.
Are we going to ignore how bad the advice was from Tony’s corner to take Nate down?
Everyone is going to score this fight differently but I had Nate winning rounds 1 & 2 and Tony winning 3. This was a very winnable fight for Tony and that leg of Diaz was fucked up. The advise should have been...
His ground game wasn't that bad. He didn't get submitted, and he escaped to his feet more than once. In fact he had a slick escape from that Guillotine, that set him up to open up at the end of the round.
It could use some refinement but overall not bad at all.
It just seemed imminent. Everytime the fight went to the feet Conor started ripping the body and Chad started to take deep breaths. Had that Diaz/Gomi type of feel.
When a fighter is that confident it almost becomes a self-filling prophecy. We saw it for years with Anderson, then a long came Weidman who was so confident he could beat him everyone started to believe it, than he did. Same with McGregor.
Everyone's talking about it only being a couple weeks notice for Mendes which is legit, but i'll take the other side of that coin. Mendes has been wrestling all his life, and Conor only had two weeks to prepare for a wrestler. If Conor had trained an entire camp for a wrestler, guaranteed his...
And all those things your talking about Mendes is BETTER than Aldo at. Aldo is a great fighter when he's advancing, take that away and he's going to be in for a long night. Conor by TKO.
He was fighting a guy notorious for gassing (Woodley Was already starting to), and Carlos is known for his cardio. Gee I wonder which direction that fight was headed in.
