Luque and Ponzi are not very mobile or slick like Magny or Wonderboy. Shavkat will be difficult to handle for Neal, he will bring pressure, energy and variety.
Strickland is a former WW and should have made himself Covington's welcome to 185. He wants attention so there you go. Whitaker would be a good callout as well for Sean. Beating on Strickland could be good for Robert.
He brings his own style and will scrap so I watch. I like fighters raw before they learn how to squeeze out a decision even if that is vital to most championship quality fighters.
Ya gotta be careful with guys like Strickland if you care about your looks. Luke gets KOd in style but it will be a sad day if that face is turned to hamburger. If Luke has a tough time making MW again he could have a heavy pace put on him by Strickland. Could be a crazy scrap, I do think...
Hell Khabib never faced any dominant fighter his entire career. RDA on the upswing isn't enough is it. Never beat a champ to be champ. Has no great win. Poirier? Exciting and good but fights are 50/50 who gets KO'd.
I would grade competition more on peak career status rather than age. Beating JDS in 2020 is not equal to beating him in 2014 for example. Beating a young RDA like Stephens did is not equal to beating an older RDA that developed into an elite fighter. It's why I am a GSP fan he beat many guys...
If he takes any fight given to him with no complaints and performs well Dana will be willing to give him opportunities. Shut your pie hole and starch a motherfucker, simple. I say he starts with a low top ten and a win gets him a top five.
