Low risk, high reward.
If a fighter moves up and loses, they were expected to lose/were the underdog. If they win, they are champ-champ, forever.
Stay in your weight class and clean out the challengers/don't hold up the division. Then talk about fighting for another belt.

Very good connecting of the dots. I agree. Whether it's VISA issues, health, or some combination - we certainly haven't seen Khamzat as much as one would have thought. Pereira, on the other hand, has certainly stepped up to the plate and delivered in a shorter time period.

Why else would someone cut 15-20 percent of their body weight for the day of weigh in, and then put it back on the next day for the fight. Because it is healthy? Because it is fun?

UFC 300 should have been built to be a no-brainer 10/10. I would say it comes in about 8/10, which for any other event of the year would be great. For it being UFC 300, however, it really is kind of lackluster.

You occassionally get the Rock'em Sock'em Robot fights, but this is just like any other sport or game. There is a set of rules, and each competitor utilizes a game plan or strategy...
I certainly agree. He made the determination that his authentic personality wasn't getting him/wouldn't get him as much money or as many title shots as his made up identity. So, considering this is the entertainment industry and prize fighting, I don't blame him for doing what's best for him...
