John Danaher is the best bjj instructor alive!!

I don't particularly like Danaher's personality. but He's been credited for the vast majority of Gordon Ryan's success by Ryan himself. Keenan seems to back that up saying that going against Ryan is basically fighting Danaher's avatar. His other students have similarly credited him for some or...

What is your dream grappling match?

Garry Tonon vs every major grappler ever, one after another. Eddie Cummings vs anyone. Too bad people got too scared of him and bored him into retirement

    ryan vs nickal

The scissors would have easily ended the match if the rules didn’t ban leglocks. This is obvious stuff. The sweeps that happen from there happen when they defend the leglocks. Bo didn’t have to defend them he just had to drag the match out of bounds and focus entirely on defending the sweep...

Opinion Are Prepubescent sex changes a form of child abuse?

Child gender/sex reassignments are absolutely child abuse. It's too young to allow irrevocable decisions like that. Kids are kids. "Feminists" are some of the biggest critics of Ts and the associated cultural movement. It's impossible to have critical gender theory if there's no such thing as...

Rolling leglock entries is this any of youse?

I teach my students to treat leg entries from standing as takedowns where you land in a dominant leg position instead of side control or whatever. It's all about knocking those hips down and keeping them down as you attack the legs. Reilly's videos and the vid of you were examples I used when...

Rolling leglock entries is this any of youse?

It’s different and therefore scary to those who don’t understand. But because people can’t acknowledge that they don’t know what’s going on, they have to say that it’s inferior anyway. “You’re just putting yourself in a bad spot and you’re going to get smashed and your back taken!” As if that...

Why didn't Gracie Jiujitsu become the standardized name for BJJ?

Were there more beyond Mehdi? I’d love to learn more details.

    BJJ class alternate warm-up

I make my students In my nogi classes do one-two of several drills: SLX entries and transitions based on intelligent responses from the partner to X, reverse X, etc with a sweep or sub entry every ten seconds or so. Reverse DLR entries followed by inversions side to side then to sweeps or leg...

    Your go to pass methodology

It’s also great to wrong side knee slice or obtain the pummelpass to butterfly mount. Excellent against certain otherwise difficult forms of half guard.

Is there any grappling style with a 50/50 emphasis on wrestling and ground game submission?

Sambo uses scarf extensively and has tons of armbars.. it’s the most common finishing method in sambo. they don’t have triangles but they have ankle locks, kneebars, and calf slicers. Plus no gripping or throw restrictions. Decent trade.

    Your go to pass methodology

I do it slightly differently than him and in more situations than he shows. Like when someone is fighting the standard leg drag, often there is space to dive and beat their knee by dropping yourself rather than solely pulling their knee.

Is there any overlap between Judo and Aikido?

Aikido primarily uses arm and wrist locks, not finger locks or toe locks. Its techniques are legal.

Is there any overlap between Judo and Aikido?

You said you were illegal, which is false. So were you misrepresenting earlier or deliberately shifting the goalposts to keep your troll thread running as long as possible? Anyway, gloves don't stop wrist locks from working, Certain techniques are easier with them because you can get more leverage.

Is there any overlap between Judo and Aikido?

Aikido's primary list of techniques are all entirely legal in MMA. Yonkyo, udeosae, kotegaeshi, ikkyo, nikkyo, kotehineri, sankyo. All the aikido moves are legal. You just don't see them because they don't really work very well against someone in a fighting situation. Now, do I use these moves...

    Your go to pass methodology

Leg drags, diving leg drags, knee slices, pummel pass series, back step/ long step. All of those have leglock threats to complement. Second tier: diving kimura, diving headlock, diving berimbolo, force half guard and then hip sit / kimura / pummel pass. I also will happily pull into a leg...

Purple belt - starting point for the leg lock game

This is a great and comprehensive primer but like I said when it came out, I don’t agree with a lot of what he teaches as the “best” way to do heelhooks. Particularly his preferences on which side to turn towards and a few other things. That said, if you combine it with Cummings’ dvd you get...

    staight jacket or body triangle

If you get to the arm trap, you shouldn’t be giving them time to get the arm back. Choke them. They can’t stop you anymore except by handing you a triangle or armbar on a platter.

It's here: The Leg Lock Anthology: 50/50 (by Lachlan Giles)

I’ll build on what the other guy said and ask why you didn’t call this the “LegLachlAnthology.” Based on this critical error, I give the set only an A instead of the A+.
