I have used this throw extensively but to say expert is a stretch.
main points I have seen people miss in no order...
pull the sleeve down hard
look down and out (I look for my outside heel on the plant foot)
your own collar side elbow goes high but your two arms steering wheel down and up...
46 here. I will be waiting a while. I may take a striking class (bag work only for now). Riding my mountain bike in the summer is a huge draw anyway so this is a pretty easy choice for me.

Class Monday and Wed with generally 5 rounds of 4 minutes each. 4/5 are typically white or blue belts. I limit my standing to almost all foot sweeps now.

Apples to oranges.
A majority of wrestlers are school kids (elementary, high school, college) the majority of bjj players are older. I certainly worked out harder when I wrestled than I now do in BJJ. I also work full time and have three kids. Top athletes in both train equally as hard.

Pinning in BJJ does not help. You have to advance position from side control (or finish). If i can hold you all day but get penalized for not advancing I am actually hurting my game. Pinning in BJJ is fine to waste a bit of time and suck a bit of life but you have to be careful...
