I've had heaps of clients get DOMS in their abs the first time they did pull-ups or chin-ups. Sounds like you overdid it, but if the pain continues to last an abnormal amount of time, I'd get it checked out..

You're definitely doing something wrong with how you hold him in the clinch or position your own head if he's hitting you harder than you're hitting him in the clinch.
You might need to keep your head in closer to his, pull the back of his down more, smother him a bit more, etc.
