Absolutely the most Gangster Knockout in UFC History, and the Greatest Moment ever in UFC History. Nothing could top this. Max made MMA history. He deserves Fight of the Night, and Performance of the Night. 600 K Bonus!
Both guys need to defend the belt a couple of times before we schedule a Superfight. Merab should get a crack first at the 135 pound title. I am in favour of Volk getting a rematch for the title he held for years. Then you got guys like Max and Ortega as other contenders waiting in the wings at...
Feel good for Francis that he cashed in with two big Boxing Days. I laugh at all the people on here mention how he had "fumbled the bag" by not signing back with the UFC. Francis can still make more millions fighting in the PFL, or setting up a fight with Wilder in the future. Well done Francis...
Leave the Weight Classes the way they are. There should not be a Weight Class every 4-8 Pounds in MMA like they have Boxing. No need for a 165 Pound Weight Class, when you have a perfectly fine 170 Pound Welterweight Class, with its rich history also in the UFC.
Costa should just move up to LHW. He will still be a good sized LHW. It worked well for Pereira, since he is now LHW Champ. 215 pounds Fight Night for Costa is incredible.
With how dominant Volk has been at 145, he deserves a rematch to get his belt back. However, it may serve Volk well to take a few extra months to fully recover after his last two knockouts. In the meantime, Max can fight Topuria sometime in the summer for the FW title (after the Gaethje fight).
I would give credit to Conor for fighting at 185, if he fought a Legitimate Middleweight like a Costa or Vettori. Fighting a 5 foot 7 inch LW like Chandler at 185 is not the same thing.
Should be UFC 299 in Miami. Ramadan starts one day after UFC 299 in March. So, it makes sense to Islam to fight at UFC 299, since he would be unavailable until Spring/Summer because of Ramadan.
I like the idea of Shavkat vs Usman in a 5 rounder, to see how Shavkat would fare over 5 rounds against one of the best Welterweights of all time. Has to be Belal vs Edwards, because Shavkat tore some ligaments in his ankle, and would not be fully ready for UFC 300. Edwards vs Belal would be a...
I agree with this. UFC 299 is one day before Ramadan. If Islam does not fight at UFC 299, you will not see him again until next summer due to him fasting for a whole month. June/July would be too long a wait for Gaethje or Oliveira. So, it makes sense for Islam to fight at UFC 299, which is one...
Colby's next title shot should be in PFL. Sitting on the sidelines for almost two years and getting his 3rd Title shot after beating a mediocre fighter like Masvidal, and for Colby to look plain terrible should be his last straw. I agree with Dana that Colby looked old and slow. He looked like a...
I voiced my displeasure at those releases a decade ago on this forum. However, putting myself in Dana's shoes- they provided no Entertainment Value for the money they were paid. As a fan of the sport, I thought those releases of Fitch, Okami, and Shields made no sense. From an entertainment...
Jiri is too much of a class act to say otherwise. For a Main Event with the LHW Belt on the line, it was a premature stoppage. Bad reffing by Goddard on an otherwise spectacular Main Card.
I have been to every Toronto UFC PPV scheduled. I will not go if that women's BW title fight is the main event, and the card is mediocre. Prices are already ridiculous as it is for the Toronto events, at Scotiabank Arena. We have been waiting years for the UFC to come back, and this is a strong...
Never realized the Dirty Bird Tim Means fought as a LHW and MW. Very interesting information. Much respect to this warrior. I always enjoy watching him fight.
If it is true Khamzat broke his hand in the first round- this was still a solid performance by him against arguably the greatest WW of all time. Khamzat was also training for Costa for the last few months, and was training for a much different fighter than Usman. Respect for both fighters on...
Volkanovski is arguably the greatest Featherweight of All-Time, and Pound for Pound one of the best fighters in the world. It is laughable that some people are diminishing Islam's victory over Volk, saying it was short notice. I knew there would be excuses made of "Short Notice" if Islam had...
Exactly my feelings. Then the next day, all I read was how Volk got "robbed". Islam clearly won the fight. No way you can give
Volk 3 rounds in that fight.
I will not be excited about this fight until both of them are together locked in the Octagon, knowing their history of missing weight and even pulling out of fights.
