Fighter with unexpected good grappling/bjj skills

Holloway. Once his long win streak started, he had great TDD, good GnP, and submissions. It's ironic because most people identify him as primarily a striker. I do think Max plays to his strengths because his vision, striking defense, and striking diversity have been a big advantage against...

    Alex can’t do HW

Dude, Poatan is done with MW. He already won that strap by TKO'ing the long-time champ. No reason to cut to MW and put his body through that. LHW and HW are the only places that make sense for him to fight. Winning a UFC belt in a 3rd weight class would be history that will likely never be...

Max Holloway is Now Responsible for Four of the Crazier/Memorable Things I've Seen in a Fight.

Oh man your new avatar. LOL. I love Gaethje but that was a brutal walk-off KO. Justin's bloody face left a trail on his right knee. I hope he's OK and won't suffer any ill long-term effects.

Max Holloway is Now Responsible for Four of the Crazier/Memorable Things I've Seen in a Fight.

How can you not appreciate 3? His no-look crushing right on Kattar while talking to the commentators, then slipping all 6 return shots from Calvin cleanly, was just epic.

Aljamain Sterling was the only winner who didn’t get a octagon interview

Yea Sterling played it too safe. He totally controlled the fight, but Kattar was virtually unscathed at the end of it. If Kattar were a guy like Poatan with devastating power, just holding him down would have been understandable as a strategy. There are times when Aljo has looked really good...

I hope they don't rush Max to a title fight against Topuria

It would mean 10x for Max's legacy if he beat Islam. Obviously, that's a tall order, but Max has great TD defense and has never been bullied by a grappler or in the clinch since he went on his long winning streak.

I hope they don't rush Max to a title fight against Topuria

The fact that you don't realize that Volk has excellent reach...just LOL.

That fight further cemented Holloway's legacy

Agreed. Tony had insane cardio, incredible pressure, great BJJ, and a granite chin until Gaethje cracked it, but Tony never had the striking defense, vision, and accuracy that Max does. People predicted Max was going to get rocked by Arnold Allen and Gaethje. Justin to his credit did register...

That fight further cemented Holloway's legacy

It was a beatdown, but Max was a stripling back when that fight happened. The Max who won the 145 belt would beat 145-champ Conor.

Topuria looked like he'd seen the Angel of Death when they cut the camera to him.

What must have been intimidating is that the things that people talk about Topuria, i.e. great power in his hands and heavy kicks, are things that Justin is also known for. And Max was piecing up Justin for the majority of the fight.

That fight further cemented Holloway's legacy

It seems crazy to say this given everything Max has already done in his career, but to come into this fight — with the majority of fans here and bettors predicting Gaethje would win — and pick Justin apart for 4 out of 5 rounds then to throw down at the end like that and knock Patient Gaethje...

    Bo Nickal is NOT good

Haven't seen enough of him on the feet given the nature of his initial UFC fights, but he showed a snappy left body kick tonight.

Bragging rights: Blanchfield vs Fiorot - Who wins and how?

If Manot is having this much difficulty making weight with a 1-lb allowance, she'd have a brutal cut to make 125. But that said, I think Erin will win this fight in the later rounds.

The Thug Rose Hate Train is ridiculous

It's her corner IMO. After she defeating JJ and Zhang for the 2nd time, they got wayyyyyy too conservative with their advice.

    Congrats to Rose

I was glad to see Rose back in the win column. It was a bit surprising to see her have no problem with Ribas's physicality. Ribas has fought at 115 but looks more like a 125. I'm on the fence whether Rose's coaches are giving her the right guidance. They're advocating for point-fighting...

News UFC Anti-Trust Lawsuit Has Been Settled and Will NOT Go To Trial Paying Out $335 Million

Agreed. If we pick the midpoint of the damages range, that's ~$1.25 billion. They settled for $335 million, or roughly one-quarter of the estimated damages. That seems like a really good deal for the UFC's parent company. I'd guess that they dangled a high enough number to get enough of the...

Which victory of Fedor Emelianenko was the most impressive?

Nog 1 and Crocop cemented Fedor's greatness. He dominated the best submissions grappler on the ground with brutal GnP and he picked Crocop apart on the feet. I love that GIFs of Fedor kicking under Crocop's rear leg to nail the plant leg. Fedor was dangerous and skilled everywhere. GOAT.

Which victory of Fedor Emelianenko was the most impressive?

I'll never forget watching that fight live. Coming into the fight, Rogers looked scary, and he showed good power and surprisingly good grappling at times in the 1st round. But man that blistering right from Fedor was simply epic.

Don't count him out! Max Holloway vs. Justin Gaethje (This is a very winnable fight for Max)

Max looks like he put on proper weight this time around. He looks noticably more muscular. It should help, so long as it doesn't sap his insane cardio. Whether or not Max handles the leg kicks will be a significant factor. I've never see Max show ill effects from leg kicks, but Gaethje's kicks...

4 years after his retirement, Khabib's sloppy seconds are demolishing the 'new generation'

Yea. Khabib went out with 3 straight finishes against legit title contenders. It was an awesome run. I don't think Khabib was intimidated by anyone. He left because of the passing of his father and the promise he made to his mother.
