Awakening and Fates ruined the series. Waifus, Lolis, marrying children, creepy petting, dating sim and atrocious sexualized character designs. Gameplay is still decent but actually worse than previous installments in terms of map design. Support convos ,due to the sheer amount are so watered...

A simple narrative isn´t always bad. Plus most video games still have mediocre plots. Zelda may not have complex characters but they are charming. Sometimes less is more.

Eh lots of series that I grew up with are gone or turned to shit ( FF, Breath of Fire, Suikoden, Star Ocean,Fire Emblem etc) but if you ask me what my favorite games of this or the last gen are they are probably still 80% Japanese.

Yeah battle system needed a bit more polish but it was definitely one of the best Jrpgs last gen.(Not that it had much competition though lol)
