It's a combination of things, the most objective one is the number of fights. People where fighting so much back then, even multiple times in the same night. Losses didn't stick because you were quickly talking about his next fight..
But they were all at end of their careers, there is no denying that. Jon still dominated them in incredible fashion but it's not as good as it could have been. The only fighter with comparable age/number of fights he had to face was Gus, and he kinda lost to the guy.
I don't really see how he wins this. Big Nog was better on his feet and with a much better chin, I don't see Cain finding the ko. Cain can definitley take him down and use his GnP but then again.. Big Nog was really comfortable on his back.

No, they didn't pass Big Nog... now that the hype machine is silent it is pretty obvious they were overrated.
Having said this JDS is a terrible matchup for Minotauro and i would probably bet on him...Cain on the other hand has close to no chanche against a young Nog.
